Why I No Longer Live In The U.S.

I thought this rant was interesting.

We know that the next economic crash (every 7 years) is coming soon, because these crashes are deliberately timed to coincide with the U.S. presidential cycle. – Jeff Nielson

He gets it, for sure.

Everything and everyone in America is controlled by a system. (The U.S. is actually more communist/controlled socially than China. But neither country is an ideal of freedom. Definitely more social and economic freedom in China though from what I have seen.) He's spot on about this.

The cops leave you alone abroad. I noticed this in China even as a white guy. You get out in a third tier city, and you have an interaction with the police, it might go something like this:

Police: "I need to take you to the station for questioning."

You: "No, that's OK. You don't need to."

Police: "Oh, OK then. Have a nice day."

Not to say they aren't corrupt (as he points out) but they just don't care unless you've really done something bad, like harming someone.

He seems a lot like me. I was frustrated with China often, but it was still much better being able to live a life where I felt like I was going somewhere in life rather than just being shit on every day by the system.
