It is a plan to tear down much of the train station (built between WWI and WWII) and realign the tracks so that the TGV/ICE trains can zip through Stuttgart and head to points east directly without coming in the station and then heading out the same way they came.
Protesters believe it will destroy the historic station and disrupt the downtown and the parkland in the downtown area. It has been pushed by the state government of B-W........
