What is Georgia like?

I often look at the site called daveseslcafe.com. It often posts positions in Georgia that are hiring teachers without any experience, some even pay the airfare. Can anybody give me some input here? What is it like? How is the culture? How does it differ from Ukraine/Georgia? What are the women like, could I find a wife there??

A few years ago there was a problem over there in Georgia. You might want to research that thoroughly before you think about going over there to teach.

Georgia is a small country located in the far east of Europe (or Middle East ) In last years it changed in a very positive way. Georgia similar to Greece..south Italy ...Turkey or even Lebanon.

One interesting fact is that Georgian, the official language in Georgia, is not a Slavic or even an Indo-European language--it is basically in it's own language family (Kartvelian). Like Hungarian, it has quite a few case endings and is probably quite a bitch to learn.

However, many people in Georgia speak Russian as well, so I'd think that you could get by with that. I don't know how many people can speak English there. Somehow I wouldn't think too many.
