Since Mexico is similar to the Philippines in that it is cheerful, wild, happy go lucky, and the girls are friendly, warm and inclusive, why isn't Mexico a hot spot for Western men seeking wives, girlfriends, or playmates? Is there a reason?

I heard that it's easy to get a girlfriend there too. And they make love very well like Latinas. (But some Mexicans say the girls are strong Catholics who like to remain virgins until marriage.)

Plus it's right off the US border.

So why isn't it a big hot spot for sex tourists and love seekers too?

And why are there not many Mexican marriage agencies or dating sites catered to foreigners?

Ok I did and they do exist. But why aren't they are popular as Russian Brides or Asian brides?

Can't speak for other states, but here in Southern CA >40% of our population is Hispanic, plus we're next-door to Mexico. There's little need to do mail order brides from there.

If you lived in Seattle, you probably wouldn't pay for a Vancouver mail-order bride service.

As a negative stereotype, Mezitizo (Amerindian) girls don't age well. Also, when people refer to Hispanics/Latino, they usually exclude Brazil (not "Spanish", yet Brazil is included in Latin America. But if you look at the, um... "latina" p**n industry, they do a lot of their shoots in Brazil.

Yes and no. You've been to Zona Norte (Adelitas) in Tijuana, and that's popular with locals from San Diego to LA, but not as well known in other parts of the country. Most Mexican cities have a "Zona Roja" somewhere, but not all of them look nice and cater to tourists.

During Spring Break week, Mexico gets flooded with over 100,000 American kids streaming across the border looking to party. The n00bs stay around Tijuana, and those with a little more experience go to Rosarito. If you got the $, Cancun, Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta, Cabo San Lucas, etc.

Back in college, one of my buddy's parents had a vacation house in Rosarito, short walking distance to the beach. It was easy to invite girls for weekend romp south of the border. Good times! Too bad I had no $ back then, when properties there was cheap. ;p

I wouldn't say all Mexicans are chauvinists. I met some very nice and jolly Mexicans in Prague who were from the state of Chihuahua (yep, like the dog ).

I've heard about a lot of people going to Tijuana for bar girls, but I think for long term relationships we already have an ample supply of Mexican women flooding into the US (especially in the border states).

yes , it's a very good question. there's a guy on niceguy who tried to commit suicide after a devestating divorce from a worthless american chick--took his house, had him pay child support,yeah the typical destructiveness.

He went to Mexico and found a classy Hispanic chick--the change in his life was/is remarkable.

The guy went through hell.

I admit that the wealthy and educated Mexicans that I met in Prague are not necessarily representative of most Mexicans. I didn't mean to imply that I knew them deeply as people, but just that they were very polite and friendly to me at least. To me, "chauvinism" equals arrogance and I didn't observe them acting arrogantly. To you, "chauvinism" implied that they think Mexico is the best country in Latin America. I never discussed this type of politics with them, so I don't know their opinions about this.

And I did study Spanish for many years in school. However, my Spanish is very rusty now and it was very rusty when I was in Prague because I'd been thinking only about Czech for months. I was able to have simple conversations in Spanish with these Mexicans, but I certainly wasn't discussing complicated politics with them in Spanish. I think if I spent a year in a Spanish-speaking country I could easily get fluent. I still have all these Spanish verb grids burned into my brain.

And yeah, I was just speculating about the situation of marrying Mexican women in the U.S. I've never been to the west coast of the US, nor have I been in Latin America. It just sounded like we should have a surplus of single Mexican women already in the US since we have so many Mexican immigrants here who want citizenship, but maybe that's not the case, maybe they're married. Few of us on this board are experts at everything and most of what we do is chat and speculate.

Although we may have some different political views, I don't have anything against you personally, Gordan. In fact, if you really are South American, I think that's very cool.

Chihuahua! I was just chatting. I haven't met enough Mexicans to really have any opinion about them.

However in my program in Prague, all the Spanish speakers sat together and even the Mexicans and the woman from Argentina hung out together.

The woman from Argentina had the sexiest Spanish accent I've ever heard. At first, I thought it was just the Argentinian accent, but when I got home I listened to women speak on Argentinian internet radio stations, they didn't sound nearly the same. This woman also had a very big nose, so I think this may have given her such a unique voice (the latina Barbra Streisand?).

She did have a very pleasant way about her. I'd definitely be willing to meet more girls from Argentina.

Are you fluent in Argentinian Spanish with all the "vos" stuff, Gordan?

Winston what did you think when you were in Tijuana? Did you see good looking women?

You have a picture of one hooker who I thought was hot as hell. But I don't know how common that is.

W: Actually, there were a few sexy women, but they looked less attractive as you got closer to them.......

Even the ones who were perfectly proportioned had this slutty look and attitude about them, and they use bright colored makeup which is also a turn off. They just seemed so unhealthy and ghetto.

The Tijuana bar girl I did was the only perfect looking one I could find with no flaws. Too bad I didn't get a picture of her.

Still, most of the girls seem do-able. But they hustle you like hell and the waiters are even more hustling.

The hooker you're referring to looked ok but better in the picture than in person.

You dont hear about guys going to Mexico to find a wife. Now that there are more of the other nationalities, you hear about more men marrying Colombians, Dominicans, Venezualans. Men were marrying Mexicans in greater numbers before the advent of the internet, due to Mexico's proximity. Also add in that there is some bias in the states against Mexicans in particular. You might even say the very name of the nationality is an insult now.

Interesting stuff here. My Mexican gf fro the"D.F." definitely is chauvinistic. Funny coming from a little Morena.

But sh'es also very family-oriented.

Btw, Winston, noone really had a good answer to your question here. Frankly, I think this proves my Law of Supply and Supply.

Suppliers often do NOT supply what is "in demand." Instead, suppliers supply what they have seen others supply, or what it suits them to supply, or what they thought of. Take it or leave it. Demand follows.

Example: car radios with little tiny buttons. International heiroglyphic symbols on fax machines so you cant tell which way to turn the paper.

How does this apply? Colombian dating services promote their wares because they see others doing it, and it seemed like a cool thing to do.

I would postulate that, in the absence of a better explanation, there isn't a lot of web-promotion of Mexican dating services simply because noone has done much of it yet.

Probably the aforesaid Mexican Chauvinism tends to damp down the enthusiasm among onlookers and gawkers. But there assuredly is a demand among the clients themselves -- the Mexican women and the American men.

So there you have it. The market is underdeveloped, because noone chooses to develop it.

That's my theory, anyway, and I'm stickin to it.

Most Americans are prejudiced against Mexicans. Some are not, but ,generally, they would rather marry an Oriental, and, well , maybe if a Latina, someone from Venezuel or Brazil, possibly; but "Meskin" is seen as low class by a lot of people. A Mexican wife for life is not exactly what many guys have in mind.
Many do not find Mexicanas attractive, either.

The feeling is mutual, as many Mexicans do not really like the US, its culture, and how the US treated them over these past two centuries. They do not like to learn English and/or marry Americans, not for racial, but for cultural/political reasons. If an American learns Spanish and adopts local customs/lives in Mexico , he will be welcome there, though, but still these are two countries that do not get along that well.

Rich Mexicans and even middle class ones do not like to live in the US, work in the US or even make friends with English-speaking Americans. They are way too proud of their country. Poor Mexican people are very poor and illiterate even in Spanish, very often. These are the ones who come to the USA to get jobs, and, mainly, it is men and sometimes divorced women. So, not a big choice of senoritas.

Mexicans and ,Americans, for that matter are not very friendly people so, that complicates everything tenfold.

Having said that, you can still find sites that deal with Mexican ladies and there are tours and marriage agencies ,but not many.
