I've started looking at countries with the larges marriage age differences.
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_at_first_marriage) Perhaps I can find some more up to date stats somewhere.

Armenia is another one that seems really nice (lots of traditional values) but I hear the culture is not so open to outsiders (they want Armenian bloodlines to persevere and there are very few Armenians in the world). In a country where national identity is important and there is a shortage of people, it will be harder to get accepted. In countries with very high birthrates, the surplus of people makes it easier as the society is more fluid.

For example, Syria sounds nice but I'm not sure how welcoming they would be.
My one experience with a Syrian was with a muslim and he was outwardly friendly but not too interested in interacting.

You have it right. To me, Armenian women are arguably the best in the world. They are the "racehorses". Intelligent, strong character, submissive to their man, loyal.

But it is VERY rare for them to date or marry out, and knowing the language is a necessity, etc.

You would have to go live in Armenia with a good solid NGO job for 1 year plus, and learn Armenian.

OR, you pick one up in Syria or Lebanon by volunteering for a month or two with an NGO helping Christian refugees - see above. Lebanon might be easier, getting into Syria might be challenging right now. Probably if you got the right fixer in Lebanon he could hook you up with a Syrian visa.

I think 1 and 2 are easy enough to find....but being accepted is tue hardest. Niger and Tajikistan aree certainly traditional....but who knows how long I could survive in a place like that, especially standing out due to appearance. Africans survive in Russia...but they are part of big immigrant groups that can assist each other(in exchange for cash). I think a place with at least a few expats might be useful for safety sake. In my 3 years in Eastern Europe, I never delt in danger but a good deal of my safety came from looking like them and knowing the languages.

You're pure Armenian blood, right? Then shoudln't you be valued as rare stock back in Armenia? Perhaps you could arrange a trip there and reconnect to some members of your family...whom may be happy to introduce you to suitable young women. Looks simple...or am I missing something?

I may do that - Armenia or even Karabakh, an "unrecognized" Armenian republic adjacent to Armenia.

If I contact the right people it could be a big deal, my Dad was involved with things there. But I don't really look forward to a lot of banquets with old men.

Syrian Armenians (from Syria or Lebanon) would seem to me to be a better deal at this particular moment in geopolitical for someone like myself looking for a virgin 30 to 40 years younger. Their West-Armenian regional culture is the same as mine, plus the mindset is "Western" in the larger sense of the word. Folks from the FSU think differently than people from the West, and their communication skills really really suck. A lot of unspoken stuff.

Yeah you're right, though, I should probably get my ass over there, to Syria or Armenia or wherever, and stop flirting with Mexi-chicas.

What's holding me up? Establishing a steady income, getting moved into a decent place to live (coming soon), getting myself fully mobile so I can spend AT LEAST 2-3 months over there while I schmooze and mingle. Got to be able to sustain myself while traveling, plus fork out thousands in travel costs and perhaps a "gratuity" or two, plus have a place HERE to bring her TO, or else be mobile enough to stay over there for a bit. And if I don't get MY residency here FIRST, then getting HERS is going to be hard.

TopSpruce and FSchmidt, it seems BOTH you guys have done a TON of research, so would each of you mind throwing down with your own list to restart the discussion please???

My experience is limited and dated. I don't think one can really comment on a place that one hasn't visited. From my experience in Latin America, I recommend Venezuela, Uruguay, Mexico, and rural Brazil. I haven't been to Colombia or Peru.

Jester, I'm not sure of what part of the country you're from but in the greater Boston area, Armenian-Americans are considered the best of the 'white' near easterners. In other words, they're basically British (or Irish) in this town.

yeah Armenians are considered "White ethnic" everywhere from Lebanon to Boston.

But in Glendale California / Los Angeles they have reached critical mass and declared their own race. In Glendale they have affirmative action for Armenians. I think in LA County too.

Truth is, we are like Jews, consider ourselves better than everyone else. Just that we are Christians, and more lovable, not so abrasive.

Yeah, well immigrant communities are quickly westernized and spoiled so I don't really consider Armenians outside of Armenia to be real Armenians. After one or two generations in America, they will just disappear into the mix. For example, lots of Armenian-American girls are dating latinos, not teaching their religion too seriously to their kids, etc etc.

Parents have surprisingly little influence on their children. The society and culture around them are far larger influences considering how much time is spent in each environmonent (home vs school, work, friends, etc.) I'm a children of immigrants and I felt my ethnic identity fading away until I left America and went to Europe.


If I was to search for an Armenian bride, I would certainly move to Armenia and live their permanently. I'm in my 20s so I would probably get a 2nd university degree at a local university in some middle class profession(dentistry, computer programming, accounting, etc.)


I'm not too sure its worth it to go to Armenia though. They are quickly developing their and the culture is modernizing. The birth rate is low(on par with Australia) and the average age at first marriage is not that great for girls.


If I was in that region of the world, I would rather convert to Islam and move to Turkey which has lower age at first marriage, higher birth rates, and possibly better weather(depending on where in Turkey). But, there are places with even higher birth rates out there:
