This doesn't make sense, we're still pretty much in the 1800's when it comes to nerve cell re-connection/fusion.
As per the article, the best case outcome is the guy being quadriplegic, as we still can't fix a severed spinal cord.
having said this, the article is a bit too biased against it.
I hope HouseMD comments on this.
How are the nerves to the heart and lungs reconnected? I understand it's a secondary pathway separate from the spinal cord i believe, but still..
