Woke up one of my female friends from the American Nightmare
Just a couple or so days ago, I got a text from one of my long time female friends from high school who now lives in Chicago (Chiraq, Drillinois). She told me she was super busy with work and got sick as a result. Then I mentioned to her that American companies don't care about the well being of their employees and that all they care about is profit. And I even mentioned that death from overwork is already a problem in workaholic Asian countries and that the USA isn't far behind. She then realized I was right about companies not caring about employees' health but only care about profit. And she also agreed with me about the so-called "American Dream" really turning out to be a nightmare. So I gave her options and one of which was moving back to New Mexico, and she is considering doing so and subleasing her apartment. Last but not least, she agreed when I told her that things in America aren't getting better and will only get worse (Hillary Clinton doubling the minimum wage won't make things like they were in the 90s and early 2000s).
Winston mentioned in his "5 Reasons To Move Overseas" podcast how the food industry and pharmaceutical companies put profit above health. But even people's jobs place profit above health, too. For instance, erratic schedules and being overworked really take a toll on employees' health, compared to the previously regular 9-5 Monday through Friday schedule. This is how bad things have gotten in America in the post-Great Recession era. The middle class is certainly finished by now. Corporations have really become greedy and evil, not caring about people's health but only about making a profit. More people are finally waking up and finding ways out of this mess or completely bypassing the American Nightmare and finding alternatives (e.g. passive income, moving overseas, etc.) I even found an alternate route myself, and now I'm able to get by on passive income.
If I were in charge of things, I would have employees only work only 9-5 Monday through Friday while having the evening and weekend shifts go to machines. Even better I would have ALL shit jobs be automated while bringing back good jobs and/or making it easier for people to be self-employed; some shit jobs are already in the process of getting automated (many big box stores have self checkout).

But you never Thanked western civilization for creating this 9 To 5 hell hole
All the lame stream proponents of how great western civilization is and saved rest of us do not ever mention creating 9 to 5 jobs
In India...even now, 80% of Indians that's over 800 million humans do not work 9 to 5...India is still agrarian economy ..They just plow the field, scatter the seeds and go home, rest and relax and come back after 4 months to get the fruits of their "hard" labour...
Even though they live poor, and they have their own problems due to Ignorance, they are fine compared to soul sucking 9 to 5 jobs...where you loose your mind as well as soul..Atleast the poor farmer at the end of the day gets to keeps his soul
How many Americans have their souls left after working 9 to 5 is the real question that needs to be asked.

Working 9 to 5 was just the tip of the iceberg, and even if you were working 9 to 5 Monday through Friday you still had time for other things like family, social life, whatever. Sure it may have been soul sucking. But it was nowhere near as bad as post-Recession working conditions. Today, many 9 to 5 jobs have disappeared and continue being replaced with low wage part time jobs that usually have erratic scheduling. Most employees don't know what their work schedule will be in more than a week in advance. At times you'll be called in on short notice. And with some of these menial jobs, employees are always "on call". Erratic scheduling is A LOT worse than working 9 to 5 because it really takes a toll on a person's health. And today, many Americans have to work two jobs at once to make ends meet. In other words they have to work 80 or 90 hours a week.starchild5 wrote:But you never Thanked western civilization for creating this 9 To 5 hell hole![]()

Have you seen pictures of Winston? I doubt he cares what goes into his food, as long as there is a lot of it.

Keep quiet. You are ruining my stereotype of asians, who just eat a bowl of rice. Except for chinese, who eat anything that walks, crawls. flies or swimsHowNow wrote:Have you seen pictures of Winston? I doubt he cares what goes into his food, as long as there is a lot of it.
