Does anyone here not drink alcohol?
Re: Does anyone here not drink alcohol?
Thanks for the awesome replies guys - no idea so many non-drinkers here. Quite inspiring to read, actually.

I have never tried alcohol, nor tobacco, weed, drugs, or psychiatric meds.

I stopped drinking alcohol 8 years ago in summer 2012. Never gravitated back to that life in any way. The 'good times' infused with feelings of fleeting pleasure fell underneath a shrouded nightmare. This is the reality.

1 Timothy 5:23 Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach's sake and thine often infirmities.
The keyword here is a little.
Ephesians 5:18 And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
There is nothing wrong with a glass of wine or two. I would much rather take something natural, something which God has created than popping a pill of some sort when I get a headache or stomach ache.
The key is to strike balance. Use a little wine, but not to the point of excess.

Re: Does anyone here not drink alcohol?
The truth is in the scriptures just posted. A small amount is not forbidden though we are warned about excess.
But for many people a little is not the key, regardless of faith, who can’t touch even the smallest amount without serious relapse.

I don't drink alcohol at all, never have and never will.

Re: Does anyone here not drink alcohol?
Follow-up: It's been 3+ months since I've had my last beer. Haven't changed anything about diet/exercise other than not drinking beer. Lost 9lbs! Some of it is probably water weight, but that's fine as it puts less stress on my joints. I've found drinking carbonated water to be an excellent substitute when I get cravings for beer. The first month was rough, but now I can pass up a beer no problem.
