What is the Blackpill Anyway?

I get what 'redpill' is supposed to be. Feminism is garbage. Women want a man who is a bit more alpha and in control. If you show a bit of dominance in certain ways, they find you more attractive... and maybe some manosphere stuff about men's rights, men being mistreated in divorce. Not sure where red pill ends and the rest of the manosphere stuff begins.

Now we have posters talking about 'black pill'. I can only guess what that means. It probably takes the same stats MGTOW and redpill men use and draws depressing conclusions like:

If you aren't a 'Chad' for looks then:
-- society is against you as a man.
-- no woman will never want you.
-- you will never have sex.

Implied here is that having sex or not makes life worth living.

Is that what the Black Pill is?

It sounds like a really negative MGTOW philosophy on steroids. I saw a post online from a MGTOW guy who says he really wanted to marry and have kids, but he was so afraid a woman would leave him and take half his stuff and his kids, he just decided not to marry.

That seemed sort of cowardly to me. My perspective is if you want that, you see what is wrong with the system, then you either go outside of it (e.g. overseas) or you find the type of girl that fits into the profile of the women in first marriages that stay together. (The huge divorce rates are partly caused by divorcees getting divorce and remarried over and over again.)

The black pill is often just used as a synonym for "pessimism". More specifically, it can be used as an appendage to the red pill. Where some people think of the red pill as realising that the reality of modern society is a fairly nasty scam, but knowing the truth will set you free, the black pill position would be that things just suck even when you know why they suck and there is not a lot you can do.
