Why are Men using money in any form (like paying for drinks) for dating so stigmatized in US culture?

Post by ArchibaultNew »

Hey guys,

This is one of the things that I have notice about American culture. Unlike other cultures it seems men using their financial resources is deemed as "alright" or acceptable.

Meanwhile, in American culture if you use any form of money is considered, "cheating" or you are a "loser" who can only get women through money. I have always found this very interested. Since women are shamed also if they want to "date up" and are called "gold diggers." To me there's an element that's very "judgmental" in American culture. Its possible that some of this is also

Some examples:
-If you pay for a woman's ride, you are a loser.
-If you pay for a woman's drinks, you are being used for money.
-If you do any sugar dating you are also considered a loser...etc.

It's very interesting and I would like to hear your thoughts.

That's foolish. There is no stigma like that. Women will gladly use men so they don't have to pay

Sugar dating.... loser? I get that. That sounds like soft prostitution. As for buying meals... if you are dating a traditional girl, she may appreciate that? If you can find a woman who wants the man to pay, and wants to be traditional-- which means she may want to stay home with the children.... and she does 'her part' of the equation, like obey her husband, provide sex when he wants it, cooks, cleans, etc., that can be a pretty good scenario. If a woman is traditionally minded like that, then she may not mind the man paying.

Now there are online dating coaches and pundits and 'content creators' who may shame men for paying for dates, etc. Why watch their content? And why tell other people your business so they can shame you?

There are countries you can go to where you can buy a girl dinner and she won't get upset. If a girl is so radically feminist that she is upset if you pay or open a door, or complains about 'the patriarchy'--- unless she is doing so to mock feminism, you don't have to ask her out on another date.
