No bicycles, scooters, e-bikes, e-scooters allowed, on streets and sidewalks, in Burr Ridge, Il.

Post by traveller »

Residents of the Chicago suburb of Burr Ridge, as well as anyone that tries to pass through Burr Ridge, are getting a new shove towards the New York City way of life, a life of no getting around except on foot and by automobile and fossil fuels, and Burr Ridge does not care if regular unleaded gasoline were a grand and higher per gallon.

That is correct, people, the village of Burr Ridge, Illinois is officially a bicycle-free and scooter-free community, and if you have no car, you are screwed, as Burr Ridge has no public transportation. No bicycles, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters, unicycles, wheelie shoes, roller skates, rollerblades, or skateboards are allowed, on neither street nor sidewalk, within the Village of Burr Ridge. A recent crackdown on those bans has seen people in Burr Ridge facing up to seven (7) months in jail and heavy fines for possession of any wheeled item capable of transporting a person without fossil fuels. The Village of Burr Ridge in other words says bluntly; all bicyclists, e-bikers, skateboarders, roller skaters, rollerbladers, and scooter riders from other suburbs including tourists, stay out of Burr Ridge!

It also is illegal in Burr Ridge to be outdoors except for business reasons only.
