I live in a city called Hermosillo, located in the state of Sonora. It is about 3 hours drive south of the border with Arizona. From Riverside you can either take a plane to get here from LAX, or you can drive. I recommend driving since having a car in Mexico is a very useful thing. From Riverside it would probably be about a 12 hour drive.

The quickest route to get here if you do decide to drive would be to take I-10 East passing through Phoenix until you get to Tucson; then take I-19 south to the border at Nogales; cross in Nogales and take Mexico Highway 15 to Hermosillo.

Anyway, I am curious: Assuming you did not know ANY Spanish during your early days in Mexico, how did you make it? How did you survive? I know you studied Spanish every single night and watched Mexican Television, but how did you survive during your early days in Mexico? Did you have some sort of translator?

Personally, I'm convinced that when a woman says she is "single" it means that she is still haveing sex/entertainment with some guy (or guys) but she is actively looking for commitment out of ONE man (i.e. white knight) who meets her exact specifications. This is why I no longer feel sorry for single women as if they are forced to be alone like men. The term "single" for men and women means entirely two different things.

Actually most women are like this. If they say they have a boyfriend i'd bet money that half the time it's a lie or what they mean is they are seeing someone but they are in fact open to possibilities.
