I was kind of shocked that many of the women around me that I know, at one time or another, admitted they were on anti depressants.

I don't get it, most of the women I know are middle to upper middle class, they drive new cars, they have jobs, they have money..... but yet, they are all depressed and using drugs to deal with it.

The pain killing drugs is a whole different story that I believe is much worse. Reminds me of Vietnam and all the guys who got strung out from using pain killers.

I knew a man who fought a battle to get custody of his kids away from his ex, who was giving them drugs. I'd rather marry someone who is bipolar (or maybe some other mental conditions) and not taking drugs than someone who is taking drugs.

What kind of wacked out statement is that? Bipolar is treatable.... With DRUGS.

Yep. I've heard numbers has high as 35% for percentage of Americans have a mental illness. Most commonly depression. It comes from their screwed up environment, and they try to solve it with drugs, which just makes it worse. Check out this article...

"One in five Americans experienced some sort of mental illness in 2010, according to a new report from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. About 5 percent of Americans have suffered from such severe mental illness that it interfered with day-to-day school, work or family.

Women were more likely to be diagnosed with mental illness than men (23 percent of women versus 16.9 percent of men), and the rate of mental illness was more than twice as likely in young adults (18 to 25) than people older than 50."
