Anyone else disappointed in Rand Paul for endorsing Romney?

I'm not disappointed, although I do think he should have waited until the convention to make his public announcement. Kind of takes a little of the wind out of his father's sails while he's still trying to secure delegates and influence the party platform for the convention.

Looking to the future, pragmatically, I would be willing to get behind Rand if it's his aim to find a nice middle ground between Ron and the mainstream of the party. Apparently, that is what he's doing here.

btw: has Mitt released his college transcripts, student aid paperwork, passports, work history, attorney court cases yet?

Thats what I was thinking. maybe the Pauls know something ad figure the number 2 spot could become number one.

I've also wondered if Obama could be forced to resign over the birth cert, before or after the election, and leave Biden at the top, who could then appoint Hilary as veep.

Imagine Paul-Paul versus Biden-Clinton.

I'm going to vote for Johnson as well. I also like Dennis Kucinich too as he is one of handful of Democrats I don't totally despise and hate. It would've been nice if he and Ron ran as third party, but that don't won't happen now.

That was my dream as well.

I think it is just politicking. What I care about is how Rand and Ron vote, not who they do their political necking with.

Anyway, I doubt Ron will endorse anyone. I personally am going to vote for Johnson if Ron doesn't win.

BTW, for as for John Kerry being anti-war, that is not true. He merely was using as a political prop to differentiate himself from Bush. He would never commit to laying out what criteria he used to determine if a war was justified or not. Dennis Kucinich was a true anti-war pol from the left.

I read an article recently which conveyed the surprising news that Romney is trailing in the vote among vets because of his excessive sabre-rattling. Apparently he thinks bringing back the Cold War, as well as other oldies, is good politics, and the vets know better. The article brought maybe the best news I've heard in years.

And we have the same sentiment expressed on this site by vets such as zboy1 and American in Mexico. Anybody who has the slightest inkling of what war is really about knows that it is always a bad, bad business, with no winners. Unless he's a sociopath. There are people who enjoy war. I never saw any firefight action, but all it took was seeing the "wall of fire" -- rounds fired by different weapons lit up at night to show that they form an impenetrable wall -- in Marine infantry training as a reservist for me to understand that war is absolute insanity.

For American presidents, though, cheered on by the press, it's usually the policy of first choice.
