Winston wrote:Thanks. My favorite games are shoot em up games with aircraft, such as Aero Fighters, Raiden, etc. There were a few awesome made for PC ones too, from the 90's, but I forget their name.

I can't find versions of those for the PC or for emulators. Any suggestions?
You can find SNK Classics like Aero Fighter with MAME. SNK Games are supported.

Aero Fighters Turbo - http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-_Mu ... t_1)/10990

Raiden was a launch title for Playstation in 1995 as well as an rom that can be played in MAME - http://www.emuparadise.me/M.A.M.E._-_Mu ... g-With-R/7

R-Type is one of the other games you might have been thinking about.

Emulators I have:

MAME (arcade)
NullDC (Dreamcast)
Project64 (N64)
ZNES (SNES)
JNES (NES)
ePSXe (PS1)
Kega Fusion (Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Sega Game Gear)
SSF (Sega Saturn)
Is this where I download MAME?

http://www.mamedev.org/

If so, where do you get the games? I prefer to download packages instead of each game separately.

Is it possible to play XBOX games on the PC?

Also, I want to play the Tekken series games. Should I download a PC version or use an Emulator? If an Emulator, which game system should I use?
There's an emulator called DOSBOX and I played some PC versions of games I liked. The only game I know that you can play with an XBOX emulator is Turok. I don't think anyone is going to emulate those systems, not now anyway. You can get Tekken on PS1 and play it flawlessly on ePSXe or psxfin (another great PS1 emulator).

I downloaded all of my MAME games from some guy's site. It is a list of the greatest games on MAME. It has like 1,000+ games and the games are amazing. All of my favorite arcade games plus new games I discovered just by playing the games in the collection. I think I bookmarked the site. There are like 30 links and they are rapidshare links. It took me a 1 day and 1/2 to get the collection since I don't have a premium account.

Here is the site for the MAME collection:

http://full-rip-games.blogspot.com/2010 ... ction.html

The files do download fast. I waited an hour to download a file after one was complete. I started the download when I woke up and I got the games like 9 pm the next night.

I have Kega Fusion and a bunch of Sega Roms but no Sega Pad. I found an USB adapter for one we'll see if I get it sometime.

When Sony announced its game system, I had a SNES. When they release pictures of the actual controller, I made the decision to buy a PSX based on that reason alone and haven't turned back.

I also have MAME but I play it less and less. I am going to keep it because I like playing Major Havoc and SNK Games. I wish games like Race Drivin and others worked better. If the Midway series with the game wasn't so crappy, I'd get that. I just might have to buy the actual arcade game. I've very good at the race track, I don't run the stunt track so I suck at it.

I've heard JNES is the emulator to have for NES, but I've never had a problem with RockNES.

You might wanna look at Puppy Arcade which is built on Puppy Linux - http://scottjarvis.com/page105.htm it centralizes all your emulators. You can also use EMU Control Center - http://www.camya.com/
I forgot what site it was, but they make USB gamepads for every old school system. I have a Logitech gamepad that I use. I know many of the racing games on MAME require steering wheels and Logitech makes steering wheels for that. Many of the games that I couldn't get to work were because I had to get every version of it like the version in US, EU, JP, etc. Sometimes the games need to be updated and the people that have the games post them on the sites I posted. I was pissed when I couldn't get the NeoGeo games I wanted to play to play, but I got some advice about how to do it and they work now.
Yeah I found USB versions of the original NES and SNES Controllers, but PS2 style game pads work just as well with those games. The button arrangement on Sega Genesis though does't work well and I only found an adapter for using the standard controller. There aren't really any N64 or Game Cube games I really want to play and still have a ton of PSX games I have never played, plus PS2 games I want to play still. That's plenty for now.

I have a MS Sidewinder USB Steering Wheel already, but the problem with emulating Hard Drivin or Race Drivin is that it doesn't work well with my steering wheel.

If you have Win 32 the 32 bit Binary

If you have Win 64 the 64 bit Binary

This is why I suggested MAME Plus Plus - http://www.zophar.net/mame/mame32-plus-plus.html the first link is the whole package

For game controllers, you can easily find the playstation styled controllers for the PC at most electronics stores.

You can configure the playstation-styled controller for SNES, NES, and Genesis games. It's not that awkward. And works perfectly for playstation roms, of course.

Dungeon Master by FTL is best played on the Amiga platform, while the original Bard's Tale is best played on the Atari ST (with monk chants). If you play with DC emulators, try to find disc images for the rare Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage.

There's also a PS2 game from the same series:

If you still have old computers from 1980s in storage, some are worth $$ to collectors. I had the original A1000, A500, A600, and 2 x A2000's -- unfortunately I gave them away for free, if I had kept it, I could've sold them for good $$.

I have one, this one in fact - http://www.gaming.nauglefest.net/arcade/main.html

I want a wireless gamepad, my classmate bought a Logitech Wireless Gamepad which is similar to Sony Dual Shock 2.

You can also get USB Game Pad adapters, but those are no longer carried by Radio Shack and I'm not even sure if Gamestop carries them anymore.

By USB Gamepad adapter, do you mean that you can plug in an actual playstation or genesis or super nintendo controller into the adapter and use it to play on your PC? That's interesting, I did not know that existed.

Nowadays you can find the generic playstation 2-styled gamepad USB controller at most electronic stores. I bought one at RadioShack a few months ago.

An interesting Christian documentary about how video games are Satanic, a new religion, addictive, and damages the frontal lobe of your brain, which is proven by science and results in people becoming more violent.

Some psychotic Christians claim everything is "Satanic." LOL. I'm a Christian but I'm sick and tired of crazy Jerry Falwell or Pat Robertson types speaking nonsense about how everything is evil and bad.

I remember Pat Robertson saying how Yoga was "Satanic" and Jerry Falwell claiming 9/11 was because of homosexuality, smh...No wonder people ridicule Christians because of nonsense like this.

Winston, games are not 'evil.' You sound like an authoritarian claiming that video games are evil and will make you violent and such. That's such b.s.!

But zboy, this is no random christian talk. If you watch the one hour documentary posted above, it contains a lot of real evidence, some scientific, that video games are bad for you. Scientific research by non-christians proves that it damages your frontal lobe of the brain, for example. See the evidence in the video before jumping to conclusions next time please. You obviously didnt see the documentary. If you did, your jaw would drop and you would be in agreement with me now.

Ppl, why are you ranting about video games? For the most part, a lot of adults, had stopped playing 'em by the age of 13-15. Really, it's more or less, complaining about the excess of information technology in ppl's day to day life.

What about Christians saying that Qigong/Tai Chi are the works of the devil? Because they provide a way of betterment, without formally accepting Christ as one's savior.

Aren't you and Winston of east Asian origin? Aren't you deeply offended that east Asian arts like Qigong, Tai Chi, Meditation are relegated to the works of the devil?

If anything, you should be railing against Christian mainstream types on those issues, not something as banal as video games.
Many years ago, the Best Picture of 1999, "American Beauty", telegraphed the message of Happier Abroad to the world.

Beware of long term engagements with AWs, you may find yourself in a coffin.

BTW, despite settling down with an AW, myself, the warning is still in effect.

I am of east Asian origin, and no I'm not offended. In fact, those Christians who say that those arts are the works of the devil are right. If you are a practitioner of any of those arts, you need to stop now.
