A lot of it has to do with purpose and identity of being a man or for that matter, a human being.
In Japan, some ppl believe that consciousness can exist in both animate and inanimate objects. This is an offshoot of the animism of Japan's Shintoism and perhaps in prior forms of Taoism in China.
In contrast, the view of automation and self-aware AI in the west is that of the Skynet/Terminator thing where in effect, artificial life forms imply the destruction of humanity.
In some ways, both perspectives may have some truth to it. For instance, by separating men & women in the west, Feminism will die an ugly death, as butch dykes will not make for effective leaders and then, we'll have a type of dystopia of everyone b*inking robots and AWs becoming a bunch of zombie dykes.
On the flip side, people, esp men, will achieve a level of independence, not seen before in the electronic age. And for men to make a comeback, that's what they need, the freedom to think and to develop their own self-awareness without expending all of one's life energy, pursuing p*ssy 7x24. By returning the soul of man, back to men, civilization can crater out and start over.
Many years ago, the Best Picture of 1999, "American Beauty", telegraphed the message of Happier Abroad to the world.
Beware of long term engagements with AWs, you may find yourself in a coffin.

BTW, despite settling down with an AW, myself, the warning is still in effect.
