1:45 "You know if they actually got some p***y, they wouldn't have to sing about getting some p***y"

The link to the video is from an article in the Guardian website. The author Laura Bates, has a blog called The Everyday Sexism Project.

http://www.everydaysexism.com/

"...exists to catalogue instances of sexism experienced by women on a day to day basis. They might be serious or minor, outrageously offensive or so niggling and normalised that you don’t even feel able to protest."

Some of the gems posted by some women and girls include:

WHY do men tell random women on the street to smile? it happens to me a lot. it just makes me look MORE angry.

Walking by a group of teenagers talking about buying a member of the group a lap dance for a special occasion.

And yet another 50+ year old man who feels the need to lean close to me as I walk by and tell me I'm "very beautiful."

Friend's teenage stepson was talking about going out with his friends and mention that they would be meeting up with some girls. All was perfectly normal and even made me smile remembering being a teen myself, until he said that he hoped he'd "get one" too.

I set him straight - he's not a bad kid, and I know he'd never hurt anyone. But boys aren't even being raised to see girls as human beings. What are we, Pokemon?

First day at a new job, as one of the few females in a tech job. Office has no dress code. I was informed that the fact that my shirt rises slightly when I lean forward at my workstation meant that I needed a "longer shirt" in the future. The everyday sexism part of it is the reason... "because its a distraction.. you know, theres a lot of male employees here...." ... Once again I am responsible for modifying the behavior instead of telling the males to behave themselves.
