I doubt it as MANY expats go abroad for the purpose of work and career. Many miss the USA, their families and the conveniences found there. For instance, in Singapore, MOST "Talent" Expats (not 3rd world workers) do not try to blend in with locals AT ALL. They live in Expat areas and socialize only with Expats. They badmouth the locals more often than not. They couldn't give a shit about culture and opportunities for new experiences. They simply spend big bucks from their big dollar Expat Packages in order to live the Western life the best they can. They give foreigners a bad image with their arrogance.

That maybe true in Singapore, but in other parts of Asia, there are a fair number of disillusioned Westerners who are expats. I've met my share of them here in China. ...

I agree with tre. Most expats I have met in East Asia are closed minded bluepillers. Even going abroad to other countries doesn't seem to open their minds and eyes. Most of them still praise America and its culture (especially English teachers), and can't wait to get back there. They don't bother to learn the local language, the local customs and basically sit and complain about the country they are in, while expecting everyone in the local population to conform to their American norms. Only a select few expats whom I have met truly prefer living abroad to living back home.

I was very selective about which expats I associated with in Asia, because most of them brought their typical brash, aggressive, sociopathic American attitudes with them from back home. A great number of them were also basically there looking for poon.

As someone else in this post pointed out, most expats are just here for the damn money/work. They have no desire to learn the local ways simply because they did not come here to enjoy life in the first place. So far, I only know one British guy who is really learning the Chinese language and says he is happier abroad in China than back in the UK (which is in the Anglosphere), and he's only been in China for 4 years.

On the other hand, I've met a fair bunch of Americans/Canadians/Brits who have lived in China for 8-9 years, some more than 10, yet they don't know nor give a damn about China. I always hear them complain about how the 'developed world' is superior in every regard, and how everything is shit. If that's the mentality you are going to have, then BUY A TICKET AND GET YOUR BIG ASS BACK TO YOUR SO-CALLED PARADISE (Anglosphere).

To all my expat brothers, if you encounter this kind of laowai/farang/whatever, just ignore them. That's what I do. Although I ain't a fan of China's increasingly Americanized and messed up society, I'd still appreciate it if the foreigners I come across at least make a good attempt to learn about China.

In the near future, SEA (not SG) is my top pick for being HA, starting with the PTV trio.


I don't know, but I've been using www.vietnameselove.com recently and the Viet girls seem way more friendly than the average Northeast Asian woman (Chinese, Taiwanese, HK, Macau, Japan, SK).

After living in five countries I can tell you there isn't a perfect place to live. If I could I'd like to take the best qualities of each country I've lived in and use it to make my own country(paradise).

This is nearly a direct quote from a few expats in Singapore: "If you aren't making A LOT more money abroad, why would you ever leave the US to move abroad?" There are Western Expats that leave the USA, UK, Germany, and many other places to take a position abroad that pays them MUCH more than what they are paid in their home countries. That is their SOLE reason for moving....$$$. They stick to themselves, ignore the culture as best they can, etc.. That is all fine and dandy IMO. What is NOT fine is when these arrogant assholes treat locals badly, treating them as inferior, etc.. This hurts all of us here and anyone like us.

The ONLY Expats that are worth socializing with are those expats that moved abroad to make LESS than what they could make in their home countries. My goal is to be one of those types. I will actually spend $$ and years of time (education/experience) with the end result of making less than I can make here WITHOUT a degree or any time spent earning one. What that means is that I'm going abroad for a much different and IMO better reason. I want what those other Expats ignore and/or badmouth...

One other thing to remember is that a lot of these expat businessmen are being MADE to go overseas for extended stays by the business/company they work for. A lot of those folks did not actually want to go overseas in the first place. I don't know how it is in China now, but during the "Olympic Boom" from about 2005-2009, when the economy was growing at over double digit percentages every year, there were quite a few of those types around.

Summing up my experiences with expats in China, I'd say that about 50% of those I met were bluepill businessmen who were mad at their boss for sending them away, and couldn't wait to go back home once they made enough money or finished their stint. Another 48% were backpacking "English teachers" who were pretty much there for snatch, partying, binge drinking; basically a chance to extend/re-live their college frat-boy days. Only about 2% of expats I met were actually worth getting to know on a greater than superficial level. Of those remaining 2%, most of them were not from the Anglosphere. My two biggest laowai friends during my stay were from Mexico and Costa Rica.

In Los Angeles where there is a high percentage of Asian and Latin American people, and nearly all of them I've talked to say they LIKE it here, like the freedom, see plenty of opportunities and plan to live here permanently. When asked why they left their countries, many said they HATE their country's government, the oppression and the lack of opportunities.

Is the influx of Third-World people to the U.S., thereby turning the U.S. into a Third-World country, the reason why these Expats hate the U.S.?

I find it interesting that these same Expats who also hate Third-World people and their culture choose to live abroad in Third-World countries like Mexico, Philippines, Thailand, etc.

Here's the countries I've lived and what I like about them.

1. England - no mosquitos
2. Canada - outdoor sports and excellent shopping in Edmonton and Calgary
3. America - mild winters

That is kinda a predicament. We want talent, but many people's political beliefs are WAYYYY off. It is damned if you do (our kids are not necessarily the brightest either), or another (not all immigrants are that smart). I would say this is the greatest commerce country in the world, but to say the best in every regard now is kinda overdone. Yes we have freedom from scarcity, but that is about it. Foreigners want that, and we want freedom from government. Their need for want due to short term thinking screws with their political thoughts, and translated over here. And while our government is still far ahead of many governments, I would argue that at least for tiger economies (like Latvia, Gerogia, Colombia, Thailand , and such) are on average more free than the US. Other than that the US has a far way to go, but is still going down the wrong path.

The ones who come here only want to make money or work. That's it! And the immigrants that come here from Latin America and Asia, are usually richer than their counterparts back home, and also very materialistic and greedy; That's why they come here...to make money, not because "America is the greatest country in the world!"
