To Rock/Davewe: Why looks REFLECT what a person actually IS!

I've never understood why both of you, and others such as AiB and MarkLambo, always claim that you can't tell what a person is based on their looks and photos. Everyone knows you can. Even children and animals know you can. So why is this beyond your comprehension? I don't get it. The concept is simple and logical: The outer is a reflection of the inner.

This is true of people, animals, and even trees and plants. If you are unhealthy, you will look unhealthy, and vice versa. If you are angry, you will look angry. If you are depressed, you will look depressed. If you are happy, you will look happy. If you are energetic, you will look energetic. Etc. Everyone knows this.

Let me give you some simple examples of how looks/appearance ACCURATELY match what a person is, usually that is, unless the person is a con artist. See the examples below.

- If I didn't know who Chuck Norris is, I could still tell by looking at him that he's a martial artist. He has a martial artist type of face. Look at his face and you will see what I mean. His face matches what he is. If he didn't look like a karate guy, Hollywood would not have cast him in so many karate action roles in movies. He can't act, so the reason he got cast so much was that he looked the part - of a karate action hero. Well guess what? Norris was a karate champion for many years in real life and won many tournaments in the 1960's.
- Same with Steve Seagal. He too looks like a martial artist. In fact, Seagal also has a type of face that looks like he's deep into into Eastern martial arts and philosophy, such as Zen. Well he actually is into such things. Read his bio and you will see.
- If I didn't know who Bruce Lee was, I could still tell from his photos that he was a martial artist and worked out and trained a lot. He looked like what he was.
- If I didn't know who Arnold Schwarzenegger was, I could still tell by looking at him that he did body building in the past, which is true because he did.
- George W. Bush looks stupid, and he is stupid. So his face matches his actual personality.
- Hillary Clinton looks like a liberal feminist. Her face, expression and hair reflect that. And guess what, she actually is a liberal feminist. So her looks match what she is.
- If you watch political debates on CNN, you will notice that liberals and conservatives have a different type of face. It becomes obvious after a while. Example: Clinton had a Democrat type look and Bob Dole had a Republican look. Pat Bucanan has a "far right reactionary" look, and that's what he is. Even actors look like what they are. For example, Richard Dreyfus looks like a liberal and he is a liberal. And Charleton Heston and Clint Eastwood look like conservatives, which is what they are.
- Bill Gates has a computer programmer geek type of look. Many computer programmers I know have that look, so that even if you don't know them, you can tell they are computer people. It's one of the most obvious looks. Marcus Frind, owner of PlentyofFish, has that type of computer geek look too. And guess what? Their looks match what they are! BINGO! In fact, if you go to a place where computer programmers work, you will see that most of them have that "computer geek" type of look. Thus their looks match what they are.
- Albert Einstein had a scientist/physicist/cosmologist type of look. And he looked like an eccentric genius too. And guess what? That's what he was! So his looks matched what he actually was. Again, no surprise.
- Friendly dogs look friendly. Conversely, unfriendly dogs look unfriendly. What a big surprise. Even animals know this, so why don't you?
- Snobby people, especially AW, have a snobby look on their face. Big surprise huh?
- Down-to-earth and authentic people also carry that trait on their faces. What could be more obvious and simple?
- Likewise, angry people look angry, happy people look happy, stressed people look stressed, impatient people look impatient, etc.
- Even plants and trees reflect this. If they are unhealthy, they will look unhealthy. If they are healthy, they will look healthy.
- Professional athletes look athletic and have an athletic looking body. Well, that's because they ARE athletic. Gee, what a surprise. Not.
- Rock is an Asian guy or Asiafile in a white man's body. Well guess what? If you meet him, you will see that his face reflects that. His face has Asian features and his personality is soft like an Asian. He also looks non-violent and non-aggressive, which is what he is. So even Rock (who also believes that you can't judge by appearance) has looks that MATCH what he actually is! (ironically lol)
- Many people say that I, Winston, have a face that looks genuine, nice, kind, and down-to-earth. Well guess what? I am all those things. So my face accurately reflects my personality.

Etc. Etc.

I could give an INFINITE number of examples. All this is obvious common sense that even children and animals know. So why is it that Davewe, Rock, and AiB, have trouble comprehending it? Weird. Am I missing something? Or do these guys lack basic human senses? lol

The point is, a person's looks usually accurately reflect what that person actually IS. The outer reflects the inner. It's very simple and logical. The only exception are con artists, who attempt to manipulate their appearance to hide what they are, so their deception tactics will work. But for normal people who are not con artists, their appearance usually tells you what they actually are. I gave many examples above.

So why do you have a hard time with something so obvious and simple? Can you explain?

But even if you aren't good at reading faces, the above examples I gave are still obvious right? This is about instinct, not skill. Even children and animals can read people.

For example, look at these images of Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee. You can tell that they are talented martial artists, even if you don't know who they are. Norris looks very confident, because he is confident. You don't have to be good at reading faces to see that. Or that he is a karate guy.









Here are images of Steven Seagal. Look at them. Doesn't he look like a guy who is into Asian martial arts and eastern philosophy? But of course, these are authentic genuine down-to-earth guys. So what you see is what you get. Most Americans will also say that with them, "what you see is what you get".

Con artists who use appearance to mask what they are, are another matter. But we are talking about regular people here. Not con artists.

Finally, check out this image of Bruce Lee below. Doesn't he look like a talented hard-working martial artist who lived and breathed it? Well that's because that's what he was! Duh.

I agree that to a certain extent faces and body language can be read. But that is in the real world where you can judge the face, the way the person carries himself/herself, the tone of voice, and many other factors. Yet even then, many of us are sometimes fooled. An ethical looking person turns out to be a scammer, a smart looking person turns out to be less smart than we assumed, etc.

But the issue here was not judging looks in the real world, but judging it based on a few 2-dimensional photographs. And even more difficult, judging two people I have never met and their compatibility. At least in Steve's case I have read enough of his posts to form some sort of opinion about him. Of course on the Internet people are often different than in person.

And none of this has anything to do with profession. Saying that Bill Gates looks like a programmer is not the same as taking a random pic and determining character or worse yet determining whose character goes best with who.

As to the girl, based on the few photos she looked nice and I wished Steve well with her.

Right. Both those statements are true, paradoxically. However, when people say "don't judge a book by its cover" they are usually referring to shy quiet reserved people who don't say too much, or to people that you may prejudge without knowing them first.

Not true. First, you've always said in your posts that one cannot judge from looks or photos. You've said that many times before.

One can judge from only photos too. Look at the photos I posted above. You've never met Chuck Norris, yet you can tell he's a karate guy. He looks like one (which is why Hollywood gave him so many of such roles) and he IS one too, since he was a karate champion for many years in real life.

You don't have to meet him to see that. Same with the Steven Seagal photos I posted above. They show you what kind of person he is. His looks match what he is. You don't need to meet him to see that.

But maybe this applies mostly to people in First World countries. When it comes to third world countries, many people survive by using and scamming others. So they have practice in masking their intent.

However, I would say that most gold digger women I've met also LOOKED like gold diggers. For example, many of my fans said that Julia and Katya looked like gold diggers and whores, even though they never met them. And they were right.

A gold digger doesn't usually look shy and sweet. I've never met one that did.

A professional con man may be good at hiding what he is. But most female gold diggers, whores and users look the part and act the part and give themselves away after a while by doing things which are obvious red flags.

Also, almost all Filipinas I've met were the same on the phone and webcam as in person. They are simple people and do not put up a different personality in person than on the phone/webcam. I'm sure Steve can corroborate this.

Come on Davewe. You should already know all this from experience.

Why looks MATCH what a person actually is?

Well yes, if a person is wearing a police uniform, he's probably a cop. If a dog is bearing it's teeth, it's probably about to bite. So many types of people wear much of their identity and how they see themselves on their sleeve so to speak. Other examples of this - gangbangers, a lot of gay guys, butch dykes, skin heads, Mormon missionaries, crackheads, weight lifters/bodybuilders, etc.

But all I've said in a previous thread is that just because a person may look approachable in one or even a few still photos does not count for much because it does not give a strong indication of the person's character, how nice they are, etc. Case in point, you Hall of Villains page has several people who look approachable and friendly. Yet many if not all of them turned out to be bad apples cus they were bad or mean to you in some way. They were not true sincere friends.

Also, Winston, you've admitted that you look dopey in many of the photos taken of you. Yet you see yourself as an enlightened out of the box free thinking one-of-a-kind European intellectual Asian. That doesn't sound dopey. So if someone saw your dopey photo, how would you expect them to correctly gauge who you really are (or see yourself at least) as a person?

Personally, I rely on face-to-face interaction to get a feeling of how a person is. If I can't get that, some video footage of the person interacting with others might give me an indication. Still photos often just don't cut it as far as I'm concerned.

Winston, animals are not a good comparison to make with humans. Dogs have simple emotions and rely on instinctual pack behavior. That's why they display obvious signs of fear or aggression. Humans have larger brains with more complex emotions and higher levels of critical thinking. Dogs are incapable of true self awareness as scientists have shown with the mirror test.

Just because someone dresses or looks a certain way it doesn't mean they _are_ that way. People often dress or look a certain way to fit in with a subset or they do it for more complex reasons. Besides, the examples you used are all actors or limelight people. They are especially charismatic individuals who have cultivated a certain "look" to get roles. For every Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris you point out I can also point out several dozen MMA fighters who look like complete wimps but could easily destroy 99% of the U.S. male population in a fight.

For example..if you saw B.J. Penn on the street would you think he is a fighter?

Or Albert Einstein? If you weren't aware of his achievements at all and if you just went by pictures you would think he's just your average eccentric european with a shitty hair do.
