The trouble in the West is that due to the current government setup the best men in terms of reproductive potential are in fact the worst men. Serial criminal scum are essentially always fathers, often of a considerable number of children. And I am not even talking about high functioning criminals. This situation is obviously not socially desirable, nor is it desirable for other men to emulate the scum in order to get sex.

Outside the West the problem with hypergamy is that the media etc. often creates the impression that all females can marry the tiny number of big shots at the top, leading females to eschew realistically desirable marriages to ordinary men in an attempt to become haremwhores of the elite.
