Obviously your national socioeconomic will be more relevant but it will show your global socioeconomic ranking compared to everyone else in the world. If a person can earn the same amount of money abroad, then their global socioeconomic ranking will be accurate in most non-high cost of living (aka non-Western) nations.

Having $250,000 in liquid assets (or net worth) would put a person in the Top 4.4% richest people in the world. When comparing to other people in the world, it makes a person the 197,838,636th richest person in the world.

There are approximately 25,763,497 people in the world with a wealth of $999,999 and greater

That globalrichlist site is way out-of-date plus it was probably skewed originally to make westerners look richer than they really are and thus give more to the people who run that site. If that site says you're in the top 5%, you're probably really top 10%, etc.
