How does the average moron cope?

My life is horribly stressful and in order to even get by for the next few weeks I have to think through and carry out a bunch of different steps. While it is not true to say no-one is helping me (thanks guys) you would really want institutional help, but of course no institution gives a shit about middle-aged mostly white men. The thing is, how in God’s name does a normal person cope with this? I mean, obviously they cant think though the steps. What happens to them? Are they looked after somehow? Do they just kill themselves?

Do you mean your move abroad... well, you have to give yourself lots of time and of course money helps. If you are able to go to the Mexican embassy to get a visa then you have money which is a start, the main thing is don't rush - take your time, Mexico will still be there when you are ready.

I get the impression most people turn to alcohol, drugs, or over-eating. I wouldn't recommend that. My biggest addictions, however, seem to be soda and internet forums. So I guess we all got our vices.

Ultimately, I think the real cure is a loyal, loving wife. With a sweet wife, I think anything you go through is endurable knowing what's waiting for you back at home. Unfortunately we now live in a world that seems determined to make this reality as difficult to achieve as possible.

I think I've derailed my own thread a bit. I didn't mean this to be a thread about how shitty life is, although that is a perfectly valid topic. I meant it to be a thread about how hard you had to think things out, which I would think would be hard for the average person.

Put the bottle away until your to-do list gets pared down. Makes thinking much easier. There'll be lots of ultra-mellow days and nights in Mexico well-suited to tippling.

Good question. But then I'm amazed at how I did the various things I did in the past to get me to where I am today. Can't imagine doing it over again. Just walking to the store each day to buy food seems like a major expedition these days. And yet at some point I have to figure out how to fly back from Ukraine to the USA to attend to various business matter. Very complicated to arrange such travel, but somehow I'll manage. No idea how the morons get anything done.

Of course, the lowest of the low, the street people, don't actually manage. They just lie around waiting for food handouts and eventually die. And similar fate awaits the rest of us eventually, even if we don't end up in the street.
