Vivek is the pretended based Indian in the Republican presidential lineup. Apparently this is how he made a lot of his money, although it might be wrong so you could take the story as apocryphal.

He starts a biotech company and buys the rights to an alzheimers drug that had failed in its clinical trials. He has his mother, a physician, do a reanalysis of the trial results which disregards people who didn't complete the trial, like because they had bad side effects. Armed with the new results he founds another company to promote the drug, takes it public and raises a fortune while delaying proper testing for as long as possible so he could cash out his own stake. When the drug was re-tested, of course it failed the trial and the value of the company collapsed to next to nothing.

A common response to this is that sure, he is just plundering the system but he is very clever and I'm just bitter that I'm not clever enough to do it too. The thing is that normal people have no such opportunity. No-one would lend us millions for such a venture, we wouldn't have the contacts, regulatory agencies would see what we were up to and stop us or prosecute us. It is only the members of evil elite class like Vivek that have such opportunities.

The lesson to take from this is that the elite live in a different world from us and could not possibly empathise with us even if they were inclined to, which they are not. Also, if you are doing anything useful on a production line or whatever and take pride in your work, you really are a sucker.
