Alcoholism Problem

Post by Nailer »

I have a problem with alcohol. I normally drink two 40's of craft beer a day, and today I did that plus a six pack. I understand the health implications of this. I've been doing this for about a year and a half.

Every day between 3 and 6 PM I have a craving to get drunk, no matter how hungover I was that morning. I get extremely depressed when the sun goes down, and alcohol fixes that. My attitude is I work hard, I make good money, therefore I should be able to do whatever I want. Also, there is nothing to do in America in the evening that doesn't involve getting drunk.

My self-control and drive are remarkable but I have limits of what I can control.

You need to get on a plane. Save the beer money towards some tickets.
1)Too much of one thing defeats the purpose.
2)Everybody is full of it. What's your hypocrisy?

So, what exactly is this post about then? If you want to stop drinking, you should do that. It's not easy but there are groups for that like AA, it really works from what I hear. Also, try religion. You know...praying to that "Jew on a stick".

It really works, or something like that. By the way, everyone's got their vice. Some people have their vices. Not everything's solvable or needs to be, as you've said.

I don't know. I can stop but I don't. I have been promising myself for about a month that I would stop but I haven't.

The problem is my dopamine levels are lowered due to social isolation and the knowledge that the west is being exterminated. Alcohol raises them back up to a normal level. When I am drunk I can't remember my ex. During the day I can distract myself with work. If I don't distraction I want to jump off a building. It's like your survival instinct flips and the same urge you have to protect your life suddenly urges you to harm yourself and you have to resist it, whereas normally your survival instinct is on your side and wants you to live. It's really weird.

I don't see how believing in the tooth fairy addresses the problem.

What would you replace the drinking with? Personally I think it is normal for white men to drink, but we really need a situation where we can drink moderately throughout the day.

You can just believe in God, or whatever. You may want to try a full spectrum amino acid supplementation, like a powder mix or something, that should provide building blocks for neurotransmitter production for dopa, serotonin and all the other stuff.

Also look into a supplement called 5htp. It's natural and it builds serotonin. .......I struggle with depression and anxiety time to time so I know how that feels. Mainly, I changed my thinking and that changed. Also, get away from negative people in your life- that will bring you down like no other. Just stay positive.

Brother I implore you to get professional assistance for yourself. Alcohol addiction is more difficult and devastating than narcotics addiction. I don't know if you are there yet, but you are at least well on your way.

Alcohol abuse destroys more lives and results in the deaths of more people than all narcotics COMBINED. People simply do not view it as dangerous because it is socially acceptable and legal.

Glad you have recognized the issue so you can take action to rectify it.

Best of luck.....

I looked up what a 40 is. 40oz = 1.18L

Might be good to get out & see what's around. I know I was a bit depressed when I came back to America, but then I can get drunk all the time & just stop.

We only have One Problem...We are addressing it with different outlet - For you it's alcohol...for others its drugs, smoking, overeating etc...

Your Dopamine levels are very low...For humanity it's getting lower and lower due to bad food...our gut is being killed.

Dopamines are produced in the gut.

http://www.slate.com/articles/
health_and_science/science/2013/07/
what_is_dopamine_love_lust_sex_addiction_gambling_motivation_reward.html

In a brain that people love to describe as “awash with chemicals,” one chemical always seems to stand out. Dopamine: the molecule behind all our most sinful behaviors and secret cravings.

Dopamine is love. Dopamine is lust. Dopamine is adultery. Dopamine is motivation. Dopamine is attention. Dopamine is feminism.

Dopamine is addiction.

This is mainstream science ...of course they would only release limited info so as to sell there 3 dollar pills...

----------------------

Your Gut is very poor as is with most humanity especially Americans due to GM food etc...

YOU MUST EAT FERMENTED FOOD to bring back Healthy Gut Bacteria who convert food in Dopamine etc..

Kombucha has become a big thing in America ...It's an ancient fermented chinese drink...It's often called Elixir of Life...

If you are American..The key is Fermented Foods...PERIOD....Do not take anti-biotics etc ever..

You must drink this...You can make it at home or buy online as well...I say make at home

Do more research on it..Once your gut is healthy...Your addiction would go away guaranteed. Good Luck

It is worth remembering that up until the Victorian era in Anglo culture every man, woman and child was tipsy every waking hour. This sobriety cult is a feature of modern degeneracy.

You are insane, but my immature hellraiser side wants to high-five you. Which is pretty much all of me.

I'm drunk again but at least this time it was social.

This would be funny if I was still 17. I am not. This is not the way to live.

It sounds like a combination of boredom and depression is causing you to drink so your first port of call should be the doctor to see what they can do to help, especially as you're having suicidal thoughts.

Perhaps take a break away from America too. New surroundings tend to add a spring to one's step.

Lastly, think about starting a new hobby which can eradicate the boredom.

The worst thing you can do though, is to carry on in this vein. I've lived with an alcoholic and I've seen the vicious circle they can't seem to break away from. It could come to a point, where you lose your livelihood because of the drinking - so act today!

Eh, it's true. Do some research.
