Even though I have never been to a foreign country before, my gut instinct tells me that there are better countries than America. What very few people even want to believe is that America is also highly communist. America is living the Communist Manifesto more than anyone even seemingly wants to know. Property taxes in America are not taxes at all; they are rents of land used for public purposes. The term "property taxes" is but a deceitful mask designed to cover the real thing, and so many Americans are gullible enough to only see the mask and not what is under the mask. Not to mention income taxes, schools designed to brainwash our children into being selfish and greedy and designed to turn their hearts to stone, and all else.

Not to mention the criminal Bush administration that really diverted America straight to the road leading to dictatorship. 9/11 was a highly suspected inside job, especially as there are eyewitness statements that indicate that the World Trade Center may have in fact been imploded by planted remote control explosives. And Americans are so gullible that they'll believe anyone who even says that jet fuel burns at 250,000 degrees, Fahrenheit!

And in fact, there are even people predicting that America will soon completely collapse!

Virtually everyone who says The U.S. is the greatest country in the world has never been to another country.

USA is not the greatest country in the world, surely not - USA has too many internal problems.

However to be fair we have to say it is also not the worst country in this world. There are many countries which are by far worse than USA.

While USA is a very productive country, too much money is wasted because of wrong politics and mismanagement. USA was clearly not only by the military point of view, but also by economic issues the winner of WWII. However this was 70 years ago and not much what was the American dream of freedom is left over now.

USA is still a very powerful country, which cannot be easily ignored, at least not when talking about international politics.
However the quality of life within USA is declining, no question about it.

Of course many enjoy their life in USA, but there are strong indications something is going wrong - it's about job problems, poverty, criminality, racist issues, health issues, missing money for domestic projects as millions of USD are wasted for meaningless wars... a long list full with problems.

The infrastructure of USA in some parts of the country is remarkably bad. There are desolate railway tracks, streets like in a 3rd world country, entire suburbs are ghost towns... Of course it is not everywhere in USA like that, but it is getting worse - but not enough to be considered 'financially broken'.

When I arrived in Japan, 1 USD was about yen 365,-, USA was a dream destination and horribly expensive for Japanese visitors - and now it is about yen 125,- and staff in USA are expecting a tip from me when serving me food or carrying my suitcase. Surprisingly USA is still NOT a cheap destination.

We here in Japan were rather surprised when we heard that the New SF Bay Bridge will be constructed in China... What does this mean?

Sort of sounds even like my parents; they think the USA and Canada are the only countries worldwide that are not ruled by a Nazi Germany/North Korea style dictatorship. Once, we were watching news of people moving to Canada and I suggested the Caribbean, and my parents said; "Politics in the Caribbean are over a thousand times worse!" As if they think that, either every single island in the Caribbean is an iron fisted dictatorship, or Cuba owns and rules the entire Caribbean sea, islands and all. It really disappoints me how many people act as if World War II is still raging around the world.

There is even a site called wikitravel that is very helpful with travelling to foreign countries. And while a few countries do have red warning boxes due to either ongoing wars and/or hard dictatorships, most of the countries presented are shown as great places.

Agreed, it's not the worst country in the world by a long-shot. It's not so great for what it presents itself to be, and it's not so great for a "developed" country.

As developed countries go, I would choose Japan over USA any day of the week. Although similarly priced, I believe you get more and better quality for your money in Japan, when it comes to apartments, electronics, cars etc. Japan also has more healthy food options and faster internet. In fact, the only reason I'm not in Japan is because they don't have any good visa options except through employment, which is just not for me.
