How the hell is coconut and fish expensive in the philippines ..It defies all economic laws, natural law and human law.

Philippines is the second largest producer of coconut in the world but if you ask for fresh coconut from road side vendor in Manila...He asks for freaking 50 Pesos...I saw a video yesterday, where a tourist goes to a vendor and asks for a coconut and she says 60 Pesos sir...he counteracts with 50 ..she says...60...

and that's in middle of an island surrounded by coconut trees..I'm from the state in India, where we grow coconut, highest in India and you can buy fresh coconut for 10 Pesos and if you got to cities like mumbai, bangalore the price jumps to 15 to 20 pesos.

But, If you buy Apple, Date palm, berries..It will be expensive in my state, because we don't grow it here but in Philipines not only Apple is expensive but Coconut as well..

Bangus...Milk Fish..National Fish of Philippines is 10 times more expensive than in India.

Abundant Fish like Mackerel, sardines are also expensive plus you never ever get it fresh...all soaked in Ammonia or Formalin ...used for preserving dead bodies...

which island is that... I drink coconut water every other week or so or when ever I can but Manila is expensive in all which way...Shipping off some coconut from your island would be cheaper than Manila prices i think

That's cheap. You could pay $5 for a coconut with the water in it in the US. I had a couple of young coconuts in Jakarta, Indonesia this year. There, the price was 20,000 rupiah, which is about $1.40. The Philippines is slightly cheaper.

That could be the tourist price. I don't think the vendor saw me when my wife bought one of those coconuts. The other had a price on the menu. This was in the city. I don't know the country prices.

I think fish is a lot cheaper in Indonesia than in the US.

Where do the packaged coconut water exports come from? I know Indonesia supplies some of it. I've seen some of it from South America. If Filippino vendors are filling the demand for it by selling the stuff to US companies, that may effect local prices. It could be a coconut water export industry hasn't sprung up in India yet, which keeps the prices from getting too high.

Something similar could be happening with fish.

My wife thinks Indonesia has lower quality spices because they ship the good stuff overseas.

Thats a ways out from Cagaayaan de Oro, on Mindanao.
I would imagine street vendors in CDO are more. At home, we pay nothing as we have somewhere around 500 coconut palms on the property.

I would never hand over such an exorbitant price to those kosher vampires.

I just bought 15 naartjies (like your mandarins), and it was R15. The same box of 15 naartjies at woolworths R33. So you hand over R18 to the jews, for nothing.

A tin of tuna is about R13-14. About 50 peso. Xheaper when on special. Probably costs a pound of flesh at woolworths.

Our grocery choices are Spar (greek and portuguese owned), Checkers (white afrikaner owned), and Pick n Pay and woolworths. Both jew owned. I boycott the latter 2 and refuse to shop there.

Damn, SA prices are cheap. For even cheap mandarins here in USA it's about $5-6 per box.

Main exporter seems to be Thailand & Philippines and no wonder local prices are expensive.

Looks like the same equations as in India..All big stores in India are owned by Crypto Jews, much like in Philippines...

If prices are disproportionately high compared to other products, then farmers will rush into the coconut tree business. The problem is, it takes a while to grow a tree enough to get a harvest doesn't it? Can they graft something onto another palm tree to get it to produce coconuts.

If enough people rush into the coconut business, supply goes up and the prices may go down. But demand may still be growing in the west.

Manila sucks. Prices for tourists and foreigners are...whatever you can get....high and dumb. It has nothing to do with the actual price of coconuts in the Philippines and everything to do with sucker pricing. They would charge you P500 if they thought you would pay it. The fact that they could buy a truckload of them for not much has nothing to do with what they might charge for just one measly coconut if someone is willing to pay, Coconuts are harvested around 4 times per year and each mature palm produces well more than a 100 coconuts in a year, Ive never counted. Well Jeeze, I must be RICH! LOL With hundreds of palms on our property and many thousands on my in-laws, we will be swimming in cash very shortly. I wonder what bank we will buy next?

I have no choice but to take my chances...Being an Asian, and living in a conland called India,,,,Hard to believe..but I trust a farang more in Asia than Asians

I always rent condo from farangs, go to restaurants owned by farangs in Asia, if a farang sells coconut in Asia..I will be the first to buy it...No Dual pricing to start with itself would make a great day for me.

I actually push for farangs to open more business in Philippines, Thailand to get fair pricing of everything. farangs can balance lot of unneccasry sh*t in Asia. Its a win - win...

Not the parasitical Jews though masquerading as white people in Asia owning lot of stuff here for more than 100 years like the Ayalas from Spain...I meant the real caucasian race should open more business in Asia...
