No more healthcare in America, no thanks to Trump.

Post by Mercury »

Another, much stronger reason to get out of America; President Donald Trump has just passed a bill that guarantees the end of all healthcare in America as we know it. Medicare, Medicaid, you name it. Soon, every single American will be paying all of their own medical bills out of their pockets. They won't get an ounce of help anymore if they get as little as $8,000 a year and even have a medical emergency (car crash, appendicitis, shooting, animal attack, job related accident, etc) that has left him/her with over $50,000 or more in medical bills/hospital fees. Only the richest people will be able to even afford to live in America. Like, they really may as well just bulldoze entire neighborhoods of single family homes, apartments, and condos and replace them with enormous, luxury mega mansions nationwide. America is about to become a country where, if you are poor, you get nothing.

Why dont you just get get a medical aid or insurance? Everyone should pay for their own health. Why should you expect and feel entitled to free handouts?

It is this handout mentality that attracts all the turd world shit to your country. Same here with free government hospitals. A white man never minds paying for services rendered. Far better to pay than to go to a darkie hospital.

Get rid of free health care and darkies will stop dropping pekkies like rabbits and will vrek in the streets. All the latinos will think twice before swimming the rio grande to drop beaners at american tax payer expense. And the white trash may consider getting a job they think beneath them for the employer subsidised medical, reducing jobs for turd world migrants.

Free health care and government pensions is nothing but socialist entitlement BS. The world doesn't owe you a living like some tame house cat with food, shelter and vet bills paid by someone else. Free health care means people go to the doctor for a cold or headache and the jew doctor can charge the government a fortune for nothing but handing out headache tablets. Private health care doctors can only charge what the market will bare. Charge too much and patients go elsewhere.

Stand up on your own 2 feet, open your wallet and pay for your own upkeep, and stop whining about what privileges you think are owed to you.

My mom died of cancer during Obama's last year.
Thank God for ObamaCare. My family did not have to pay anything other than a few hundred dollars here and there.

The President did not and cannot "pass a bill." The House of Representatives approved a new bill which is now with the Senate for their approval. If the Senate approves it, the President can sign it into law.

What will likely happen is the Senate will craft a different bill and it will have to go back to the House for approval before Trump has the chance to sign it into law or veto it. This is unlikely to happen but no impossible.

Correct. This happens to may presidents. Even though Obama didn't do as much good as Trump has done, Obama had his hands tied behind his back to the Senate at the time.

Quick question. Does anyone in this thread know how insurance works? I notice a lot of people these days think they're edgy by insulting ObamaCare. I did as well, here and there, until I learned how insurance works. It makes sense once you learn that.

Yeah, it works as a bloodsucking, profiteering middleman, which has no useful function in a health care system at all. It skims its profits off the top, which is 100 percent of the reason U.S. health care costs are at least 25 percent higher than any other country. I suppose you're talking about pooling risks, and such, but first the question has to be asked: what are these middlemen doing there in the first place? And we all know the answer -- they control Congress with money. Obamacare enshrined insurance companies at the heart of the system, and tried to deliver up 40 million new customers for them -- under the compulsion of federal law. It was bound to fail.

The issues with Obamacare are not in the insurance aspect so much as the in-state limitations, high employer costs, mandated participation and overall inefficiencies in the program.

Insurance should be a choice, not a mandate. From an actuarial point of view, insurance is a legitimized scam. The vast majority of people never make valid claims and this pays for the valid claims of a few with ample profits for the company.

If not enough people write policies, the companies lose money hence the use of government to MANDATE polices like auto insurance and now health insurance.

When I was in law school, I learned just how Insurance companies work to either not pay a claim or to not fully pay it. This is the scam of insurance which markets itself as reliable protection.

Most people don't realize that they don't even need insurance in that they pay into it far more than they benefit. The only exception would be health insurance, but they often deny people their claims too.

Free stuff? F*ck off with that noise; we pay taxes, a LOT of taxes, and they piss it all away on wars, bureaucracy, and everything BUT healthcare.

Considering how much tax money the federal govt spends on bullsh*t, it's a travesty we don't have single payer or some other form of near-universal healthcare in this country. It's downright criminal.

Exactly. A few billion on illegal wars that kill half a million children in the Middle East? Sure, no problem.

Health care for all? What? That is socialism!!!

I can't even listen to Rush Limbaugh while he is talking about this nonsense. Certain people are simply against helping people. But if there were a war, the cost would be the last thing they would consider to limit it or hold it back from it. They would be all for it. Just tack it on to the national debt.

And what benefit is there to war? Nothing the average American will see. Who would benefit from health care? Everyone.

So they would much rather support murder over lies than they do support the health of their fellow citizens.

And the media just pumps it up, and people believe whatever their party line is.

Just like all these people who thought Trump was going to be their savior, despite all his opinions to the contrary openly spoken years before.

Gsjackson doesn't know what he (or she) is talking about. Contrarian Expatriate on the other hand, does. THAT is how insurance works. When you understand how something works, you may criticise it. Yes, it forces otherwise healthy people who don't take insurance seriously to sign up for it, to subsidise those who are unhealthy and/or file false claims. Contrarian, I believe that are some states in your country that don't mandate auto insurance. New Hampshire should be one of them, if memory serves. That aside, other posters above me have pointed out that this right-wing triggering of "free stuff" is a bit of a strawman when, you know, defecit will rise as America and its gang continues their global aggressions. I tend to hold the belief that war is expensive. So expensive, that if the citizenry knew how much a war costs, they'd never want one again.

It's no secret that westerners fly to places like Thailand to get competent and effective medical care. Who can blame them? They can buy a round trip ticket, room and board, plus misc. expenses and the medical operation in question, and STILL have more in their pockets than staying stateside and getting an American doctor to patch them up. However, as I've said in other threads, the best we can do is adapt to this landscape. Because insurance is here to stay.
