I'm watching a movie where a man with an English accent is working, apparently in the US, at a fast food restaurant. This is unrealistic.
It might be possible for a Brit to work in the US in academia, in some sort of scientific research role, IT, or some other niche where the allow visas for foreigners. A Brit who marries an American can get a greencard.
British accents are cool, so they like to put them in movie roles. I've probably met more Brits in Asia than in the US.
