Insecurity of Foreign Women in ESL Classes

Formerly as an ESL teacher abroad,
I became tired of how some FW students
would become disgrunted by their "accents".
They a.ssumed that they didn't sound
"American enough" nor "English enough".

That drove me up the wall; let me tell you!

I would then compose myself and tell them

that as long as you are understood and

speak the sentences somewhat grammatically
comprehensible, then you are doing an
excellent job beyond measure.

Sometimes they feel assured; sometimes they

don't.

I, for one, personally feel that it's such

a fcuking turn-on. Imagine their broken
FW accent in bed with you whether you are

"smashing and thrashing" her or just laying

there just enjoying each other's presence

in utter tranquility. That makes me feel

tingly and milky and at-peace on the

inside; I don't know about you guys. LOL

Has anybody been an English instructor

that had experienced what I'm

talking about?

Exacto, señor. Bahahahahaa hence why I had segued from the classroom to the bedroom in my initial post on this thread! LOL

If they are studying English for work purposes, getting the accent right is very important to them for good reason. They may not be hired otherwise. Those hiring for work in call centers that will be working with American customers are looking for those with American accented English with as little other accent as possible overlaid. That is one reason the Philippines has passed India as a call center
location. The Filipinos who are the better English speakers have less of an accent and less of an attitude, whereas "Raj" from India (Kevin...) speaks British/Indian English and has an attitude- he does not like you.

Accent is enhanced by mimicking and and practicing the target accent. One must listen to the news or the radio and just practice it. It can be done.

My ability to obtain a local accent is far better than my ability to pick up grammar and vocabulary. It sometimes leads people to believe that I speak better than I actually do.

While working in the UK, most people found it hard to understand me. I always had to repeat myself. I realised that I spoke too fast plus I had my foreign accent. It did me well being in that environment, ... now I have an alter-accent that sounds a bit British. I can switch it on & off.

I find the Scottish hard to understand.

Yeah but what if an ESL student would want to work in a non-Anglosphere country and/or apply for a non-Anglophone corporation that seeks an English speaker at a basic level? See this is why I want the Anglosphere to implode hence eating itself alive. They are all for mind control and the greatest R.O.I. possible. Drone-a.ss culture it is. It must die an unyieldingly grim death.

Speaking a language that can be understood is about communication, not a stratospheric fcuking caste system; that's some deprecated European nationlist mindset.
Yeah even the Spaniards are guilty of making Latinos like this. E.G. One must have a "Latino" accent in order to speak Spanish; nobody SHOULD speak Spanish with a gringo accent (for example).

i noticed alot of foreign women from different countries speak with a very very good accent. be they from mexico, italy, france, china, japan you name it.

i know they speak this way because they are insecure about their "american accent".

so when they hear me speak a word in their language and get it wrong then THEY laugh at me for it. i knew it was because they themselves are insecure about speaking the english language right. so it is an opportunity to point fingers when an american cant pronounce their language right.
