Bicyclists and e-bikers who already know that their rides are completely illegal in Chicago proper, on both street and sidewalk and in alleyways, need to be reminded that even in the suburbs, there is still an obstacle to bicycle riding; the village of Oak Park. That is correct, just like in Chicago proper, bicycles and e-bikes are completely illegal within the entire Village of Oak Park, including all residential neighborhoods. E-bikes and bicycles can not be ridden at all, on neither street nor sidewalk, nor in any alley, within the Village of Oak Park, Il. In other words, all bicyclists and e-bikers are ordered to stay out of Oak Park! All businesses that deal with bicycles and e-bikes, including bike shops, are what are known as illegal businesses if they occur within the Village of Oak Park. Operation of a bicycle or e-bike within the Village of Oak Park, on any street, alleyway, or sidewalk, carries a mandatory sentence of up to seven (7) months in Cook County Jail. In Oak Park, there are but four legal ways of getting around, and they are walking, driving, taxi/Uber, and public transportation.
