I don't think it's related to malnutrition. Most Asians are petite and skinny. The average height there is probably 5' and average weight (just trying to guess) is 90.

I would guess that these estimates are accurate. In photos my wife is significantly taller than most of her friends. She told me she didn't know her height and I was guessing about 5'2". Finally I said - let's measure. She's just a hair over 5'1" and as I say, she's an inch or 2 taller than most of her friends.

I dated one Filipina before my wife who swore she was 5'2" but I used to kid her that that was in heels. No way she was over 5'. OTOH, I dated another Pinay who was 5'5" and towered over most Filipinas.

But for me since both my mother and sister are 5' I have no complaints.

As for average female height, I would put it a 4'11" to 5'. But there are pockets where the average is higher. If you filter for middle class and above and stay in the classier enclaves of Manila area, average is probably more like 5'2".

Since I give women a big premium for being taller, I've filtered and managed to meet many here who are 5'4" to 5'10" (yes, a pure Pinay at 5'10" from Cagayan de Oro of all places). I've also met many mixed gals who are 5'6"-5'8". One here in Metro Man I met is also 5'10" but she's half Egyptian by blood line.
