The two countries are also negotiating for a second Japanese astronaut to also land on the moon, the sources added.

The United States aims to land Americans to the moon in 2025, the first people since the Apollo program half a century ago, and to send astronauts there once a year from 2028 on.

ROTFL! Did you forget that George Bush said that NASA would send men to the moon again for sure by 2018? They keep pushing it back and back and back. How gullible can you be? That's a smoking gun that it was faked. Who panned the camera up? Was it by remote control or timer? How could it be that accurate? And how could the camera broadcast the film back to NASA? Recently I ran into a man who was certain the Moon landing was fake. One argument he gave me is the fact that we're not making the trip, like, every year. I asked him why do we have to? No answer. This man was not really young, and seemed otherwise average. I can't believe idiots like this, who can't think logically about events like this. I still remember sitting on the living room floor watching the Moon landing live. It's been wonderful this year, finally being able to see the high-quality color footage the astronauts themselves shot from their trip.

I KNOW the conspiracy theories about the moon landings being fake are total BS. My best friend had a masters in Engineering and worked at the Man's Spacecraft Center south of Houston at the time of the landings. He was working on the development of the Space Shuttle but also got involved with problems that developed in the particular moons landings. When a liquid oxygen tank blew up in the Service Module of Apollo 13, he and some other top engineers were assigned a rush assignment during the emergency to determine why the tank might have blown up. The particular tank that had blown up was originally supposed to go into Apollo 11 but it was dropped by an installer, so it was replaced with a tank from Apollo 13. The tank that was dropped was tested and it was determined it was not damaged and was structurally safe to install on 13. The problem was, and they didn't know it, some wiring insulation was jarred loose and was combustable and in the pure liquid oxygen environment it ignited and caused the explosion.

My friend is a straight shooter and knew the inner workings of NASA and would have known if this was one big hoax. This was way, way too big a project and too many professional scientists and engineers (thousands) were involved for this to have been a hoax. The "fake" moon landing believers are the same mentality level as the "fake" news believers today. They live in an alternative reality universe.

Then the question has to be asked -- and answered -- why have we not gone back?

This was a defining event in world history, and the USA led the way, yet, we decided the moon was far enuf, and the visits under Apollo in the very early 70's were sufficient.

What happened?

It seems to me the American vision shrank and has yet to recover.

What's the utility of continuing return to a place where residence wasn't sustainable, nor worth the effort. "American vision" was quite clear. Maybe modern tech and pertinence is changing viability but 50 years ago, that was a non sequitur. You might examine the primitive technological state of art of that time. I was still using a slide rule in college in 1969. Square roots were a whimsical calculation. Today's smartphones have orders of magnitude more computational power than was used on the Moon missions. The world, USSR or USA or anyone else, wasn't ready for relying on such skimpy tech at that time and the Cold War and Vietnam had the world looking to other issues.

It's clear that we should've been more attentive to our oceans before and during those 50 years, instead of a distant reality that still holds little interest.

You didn't see the Bart Sibrel interview on Joe Rogan. Someone who was at the filming of the fake moon landing has confessed to it on his death bed already. He said he was there when it was filmed at a military base in New Mexico.

Also the astronaut James Irwin was gonna confess to Bill Kaysing. Then suddenly he had a heart attack out of nowhere and was silenced. Gee what a coincidence. Everything always helps the elites. Never us.

Lack of money to go back is a joke. The US government has unlimited amounts of money to fund a war and can print money out of nothing. That's never the real reason for anything. The laser reflectors were debunked long ago too. NASA has been bouncing lasers off the moon since early 1960s. It was mentioned in National Geographic. You don't need any laser reflectors on there. Also all they do is push a button in a lab and a beeping sound is heard. Anyone can rig a computer to beep when you press a button. That doesn't prove anything about the moon landings. My gosh. You could rig an Atari 2600 to beep too every time you press a joystick button. Lol

Also there should be live cameras with HD footage from the moon now. With moving rovers too. Not just a stationary spinning camera like the live camera from Mars, which looks super fake.
