Understanding the Old Testament

Post by fschmidt »

Anyone who actually wants to understand the Old Testament should read this book:

The Philosophy of Hebrew Scripture

I had to reply because this guys understanding of the bible is completely flawed and ridiculous. God is not punishing Cain because he's a lowly farmer and his brother is a sheep herder, which is somehow superior. As if God is a respecter of persons. Since when? He chose Abel because Abel gave his best sacrifice while Cain try to give his worst so that Cain could selfishly keep his best of his harvest. God did not accept it and he was butthurt.

Apparently this is the standard Christian interpretation. You are welcome to your interpretation but "this guy" is a highly educated Orthodox Jew who understands the Old Testament better than you do, so to call his understanding "completely flawed and ridiculous" is completely flawed and ridiculous on your part. See a civilized discussion between me and a Christian on this issue here:

"Orthodox Jew"

Now I see why he's twisting the bible. He's of the synagogue of satan. Thanks for clarifying.

I'm not going to read all of that non sense of you arguing a mute point over nothing, and you're saying. He has credentials so is superior in the eye of the most high. Yeah right get back to the bare essentials of the bible as "God is no respecter of persons" and the "wisdom of man is foolishness to God". Why would I believe this fool when I can get the insight directly from the holy spirit? lol

It's hilarious. The man in the video talks about how God favors the innovators then rolls along a slideshow of histories luciferians and free masons. Ya I bet God favors those men while poor farmers are just scum

You ignorant fool, I wouldn't and neither would any Orthodox Jew. And you didn't answer my question, obviously because you don't keep the Sabbath, as God requested.

Traditional Christianity, before about 1900, was a great religion. Modern Christianity is shit, worse than any other form liberalism. Your "holy spirit" is nothing but your own ego, justifying all your absurd beliefs which include violating all of God's laws.

I'm on Fschmidt on this one: Modern Christianity is terrible--a mixture of Zionist--influenced Christianity mixed with hypocritical, warmongering (and fake) social conservatism (a la Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell). Yuck. ...
