Why do many say "Most wars are caused by religion" when obviously that's not true at all?

I don't get something. Why do so many people say things that make no sense and are obviously not even true, yet they keep saying it over and over again as if it were a common fact?! It's totally illogical. New Agers and Atheists do this too. Here's one example: They always claim that most of the wars in history were fought over religion, therefore organized religion has caused lots of violence and deaths. However, anyone who knows anything about wars or history know this isn't true. Only the dumbest low IQ people would fall for that outdated lie. All they can do is cite the Crusades, which have multiple interpretations and causes. But even if the Crusades were caused by religion, that doesn't mean all wars are. Most wars have nothing to do with religion at all. For instance:

World War I
World War II
Vietnam War
Korean War
Iraq and Afganistan War
American Civil War
Napoleonic Wars
War of 1812
American Revolution War
Mexican-American War
Spanish-American War
Franco-Prussian War
The wars of conquest fought by Alexander the Great
The wars of conquest fought by Julius Caesar
The wars of conquest fought by Napoleon
The Hundred Years War between France and England
The current war in Ukraine
Etc.

Obviously NONE of these wars have anything to do with religion or fighting in the name of God. Everyone knows this. These wars were about territory, resources, economics, politics, and some perhaps were occult human sacrifice rituals too (as some truthers suggest). But clearly organized religion were NOT the cause of the wars above. So why is the lie that "religion causes most wars or all wars" constantly repeated ad nauseum by liberals, atheists, and new agers? Why does everyone repeat something over and over again that isn't even true, as if it were as factual as 2+2=4 when obviously it is not even true at all? Very illogical. Has everyone gone insane? Am I the only sane logical person?

Even Neale Donald Walsch in "Conversations with God" kept saying in his New Age books endlessly that most wars if not all are caused by religion, as if it were a fact that everyone agrees on, and the God he was talking to agreed with him too. WTF? Is everyone insane, including New Agers and their God? LOL

Just because the Crusades MAY have been fought over religion doesn't mean that all the wars above were too. Where does everyone get that? And why does everyone repeat it BRAINLESSLY without basis? Is everyone INSANE? Why would everyone repeat something false over and over again?! It's so annoying! Why is everyone so f***ing stupid???!!!
