Biblical quotes for a headstone
Biblical quotes for a headstone
Does anyone know any bible verses that would look good on a headstone. The deceased was a bit of a doofus IMO, so something generic would work.

"Another one bites the dust" Philippians 14:5

It's been over a month. What does the headstone read?
A good man is above pettiness. He is better than that.

For the sake of getting things done, this had to be a compromise. Since the guy was interested in genealogy we stated the families he was descended from at the top, included a few lines about his life in the middle and then ended with this Bible verse:
The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places;
yea, I have goodly heritage (Psalm 16:6)
Which kind of matches the genealogy motif and the very nice tropical paradise looking cemetery he is buried in. An unusual headstone, but I think he would have approved.

That sounds very honorable. Thanks for responding.Cornfed wrote: ↑May 24th, 2018, 1:09 amFor the sake of getting things done, this had to be a compromise. Interesting quote on Wernher Von Braun's tombstone.
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
Wikipedia:
Wernher Von Braun had earlier statedWernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun (March 23, 1912 – June 16, 1977) was a German (and, later, American) aerospace engineer[3] and space architect. He was the leading figure in the development of rocket technology in Germany and the father of rocket technology and space science in the United States.[4]
In his twenties and early thirties, von Braun worked in Nazi Germany's rocket development program. He helped design and develop the V-2 rocket at Peenemünde during World War II. Following the war, he was secretly moved to the United States, along with about 1,600 other German scientists, engineers, and technicians, as part of Operation Paperclip. He worked for the United States Army on an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) program and he developed the rockets that launched the United States' first space satellite Explorer 1. His group was assimilated into NASA, where he served as director of the newly formed Marshall Space Flight Center and as the chief architect of the Saturn V super heavy-lift launch vehicle that propelled the Apollo spacecraft to the Moon.[5]
Source: https://chemtrailsplanet.net/2018/01/01 ... as-a-hoax/It is commonly (and falsely) believed that men will fly directly from the Earth to the moon, but to do this we would require a vehicle of such gigantic proportions that it would prove an economic impossibility. Calculations have been carefully worked out on the type of vehicle we would need for the nonstop flight from the Earth to the moon and to return.
The figure speak for themselves :Three rockets would be necessary, each rocket ship would (need to) be TALLER THAN THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING (1250 FEET) and weigh about TEN TIMES the tonnage of the Queen Mary (or some 800,000 TONS).
