Does Buddhist Meditation Solve All Your Problems? Or does Happier Abroad?

Post by Winston »

This Buddhist video below claims to have the solution to all your problems. Watch it so you will see that I'm not making straw man arguments. They do claim that, which is odd because meditation, while good for your spiritual practice, is not gonna solve all your problems. What do you all think? Does meditation, mindfulness, and letting go solve all your problems, or does Happier Abroad solve all your problems? lol

Comment I posted below the video:

Sorry but meditation isn't gonna solve all your problems even though it's good for you. In contrast changing location and culture definitely WILL! Such as leaving America for a better and freer life for example. In other countries I have ZERO social anxiety and isolation and can date as many girls as I want! Because in other countries people have souls that I can connect with and aren't soulless like in America. That's why I'm the only truther with actual solutions! See my last few podcasts for proof of what I mean. For me going to the Philippines solved almost all my problems. Low cost of living, unlimited girls, sex, romance, love, dating, fun, freedom, etc. Nothing beats that. It's real PARADISE! But very few people talk about it for some reason. Sorry but religion or meditation or Buddhism, while nice, doesn't compare!

Don't compare other religions to Buddhism. The Old Testament fully supports moving to better places. Both Abraham and Moses did it. And in Islam, Muhammad moved from Mecca to Medina to seek better fortune. So these religions give good guidance.

Maybe. But these Buddhist channels on YouTube, while nice and do contain good Eastern wisdom, do claim that meditation is the solution to all your problems. They offer nothing else. As if letting go of all attachments and desires means your problems are solved. Geez. What's the point of life then?

I was on a group Zoom call about last year with a Buddhist monk from Tibet who relocated to my hometown to build a monastery there. I first met him when I was 26. When he was giving the discussion to everyone, I wanted to jump in and yell to everyone's squares on the screen. What he's saying and telling you will just make you a more peaceful, docile slave. Buddhism won't make you happy and free. It will just make you docile and submissive. I didn't dare say anything like that because I respected him.

But onto the issue of Americans not getting it.

@Winston For Americans, it's either 2 things. For one, most people in America don't have the intellectual curiosity to imagine their life could be better in another part of the world. Two, FEAR. Most people are scared. Thirdly, they don't have the actual competence needed to leave the country at all. They're already firmly planted in their little, miserable habitats wherever they are.

Finally, most adult men in America are simply too proud. It's like my friend said, most people in America are pretending they have a good life. When in reality, they're just miserable. They're too proud to admit their lives f***ing suck.

I've made real nice comments before on manosphere channels and put "I left America and became much happier. Have you ever thought about leaving America?"

The responses were "It's the same shit everywhere.".....or "Interesting, I would think the whole left and Antifa would have left the country by now."

Did they really say they don't support moving or are you making a strawman argument? Plenty of Buddhist move all the time. The Tibetans moved to India. Buddhism is a spiritual discipline and doesn't address this subject.
