Yes the Catholic Church as an organization is modern scum, but some Catholics aren't modern scum.

Of course I support abortion and the LGBTQ stuff. If scum want to commit genetic suicide, I support that. But divorce is a big problem.

Catholic Church relaxes rules for transgender people

In a letter responding to questions posed by a Brazilian bishop, the church’s Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith outlined its position toward transgender and other LGBT worshipers, affirming that they may receive the sacrament of baptism, serve as witnesses in wedding ceremonies and act as godparents to Catholic children.

There was some news a while back where the media tried to spin something Francis said as pro-LGBT, but they interpreted it, probably, a different way from what is intended.

I would imagine this guy lost whatever role he lost for criticizing Francis, not for being conservative.

And the recent statement about trans people getting baptized said repentance was necessary. The RCC is against gay marriage, but allows kids adopted by these perverts to be sprinkled if there is reason to think they will be raised in the RCC belief system.

Within a conservative framework, both of those things make sense without them embracing LGBT.
