Actually, I know many people getting online degrees these days--even in Asia. So, I disagree with you, Cornfed.

There are online schools from well-known universities such as Penn State, Depaul and City University of New York.

Usually an online degree will be a bad deal compared to a regular degree. U of Phoenix charges really high tuition, but I doubt many employers will value their degrees like a degree from a real school. The GI Bill is willing to pay for degrees from such institutions. If there is a large state university that has an online program with no hint on the diploma that it's online, there may be some good bargains. Maybe one of those big farm states out west would have some kind of deal. I think Nebraska or one of those fairly empty states had an online MBA at one point. If it's accredited,

Doing my CELTA now. I opted for one at a real school rather than an online one. There's really no substitute to actually being there.
