Ha ha, just as I expected, it seems she didn't last very long here thanks to certain haters. I'll think twice before inviting interesting and unique people I come across to participate here next time, male or female.

I've come across a good number of articulate, educated, intelligent, and creative Filipinas by now, primarily from the middle classes. They contrast sharply with the Filipina stereotype and what foreign guys generally encounter all over Phils. But Ginger was one who was willing to come her and share generously. It's really be great to hear more from locals in some of our favorite countries, to get their perspective; not just those of expats who will never really be on the inside. But if you bash new posters, its likely they will get fed-up and leave. Anyway, it's your loss. I will continue to learn from these people offline.

BTW, she's on a 4 day trip in Bangkok (her first time abroad I think) and will write about her observations and initial impressions - a compare and contrast type of piece: Manila vs. Bangkok / Phils vs. Thailand. But she's only going to share that with a few friends she's made here privately. She told me I could post a copy on the forum if I want but I think that's up to her to do. If she's been run-off the forum or just doesn't wanna be here, why post anything from her.

Voted off, am not sure but I seem to remember there was a thread or a poll by zboy1 and men members started hurling insults against her/females. I was surprised by the hatred of those who posted in there when zboy1 announced she's gone...they won't dare say it to her face when she was here though. Have men of the forum really gotten that low?

Maybe there should be some specific rules about which threads they can enter. I remember cautioning one decent-seeming young lady that she was geting into trouble, posting on a thread where men were discussing AW, past pain, etc. I guess i like reading women's thoughts, and don't mind them reading what's here, but I don't want them to defend AW, ever.

This echoes the point made recently by Maker55 about the Law of Attraction. If we look for negative AW behavior everywhere, that's all we will see.

To me Ginger is a modern woman without being consciously a feminist. She isn't deferential enough for my taste, but hell I don't have to date someone to learn from them.
