With Lula, as the new President, Brazil is on the revenge path against the US for requiring visas from Brazilians. They are also making the process rather lengthy and convoluted. The four year visa free holiday is over.

The same vengeful measures are being taken against Canada, Australia and Japan.

I was looking at ticket prices from Medellin and they're less than $300 one way to Rio. My friend who has been everywhere said out of all the countries he's been to, he felt the most unsafe in Rio. But he said I should check out Florianopolis and coastal cities.

I did not feel unsafe, but the prettiness of the girls is exaggerated. Many fat, big women. Just go there for fun.
