More about my social situation, when I have the opportunity to make a new friend it's kind of like they assume I have a large network of cool people and they want to be part of it ("are you going out Saturday night, can I join your gang", "here's my number, give my a call when you got something going on", etc). When they get to know me a bit and find out that they themselves have a larger network than I, then they are not willing to let me be part of that. So, in essence, men are willing to receive something, but not willing to share that same something.

Women, on the other hand, seem to help and care about each other much more than men do. We all know a man going through difficulties is a loser, but a women doing the same thing is a victim. So maybe if a bring a foreign woman to my country she'll be able to build a network on her own and we'll be just fine socially? Any thoughts on this?

And why are you so paranoid and caring so much about what other people think of you?
My country is irrelevant. I don't care about what other people think of me. However, I care a lot about my future family members' abilities to live happy and fulfilling lives. It would kill me to see my future wife or kids having to go through anything similar to what I have had to go through (bullying and social exclusion).

Modern culture is populated by human scum. Would you rather have your family fit in to modern culture, or would you rather look for an alternative?

Lately I've been considering trying to get a job at an oil rig. The salary is pretty good and typically I would work 2 weeks followed by 3 weeks off. This would allow me to (partially) live anywhere in the world with the safety of a stable 1st-world country salary. Has anybody had any experience with this type of life-style? What are the pros and cons you can think of? I really like the idea of being able to live anywhere (during the weeks off from work), if it doesn't work out with the first woman I meet, I'll simply move on to the next one, no matter where she lives.

What countries have visa-rules that would allow this type of lifestyle, if I remain unmarried?
