Chinese new year vacation - Puerto Galera?

Post by ryanx »

I need to get away from Taiwan for a week or so during the Chinese New Year. I am just so tired of the pace of life here. I need to recharge my batteries. I visited Philippines last year at the same time with my brother and saw a number of places including, Manila, cebu, Bohol, Boracay.

But this year I am alone and being a poor teacher as I am my budget is limited. So I am thinking maybe just visit one place cheaply and I heard good things about Puerto Galera.

I am after a very laid back kind of experience. Not too much noise or night life. A bit of nature, sea, sand, trees, quiet. Some nice fresh seafood and a drink or two.

What are you experiences? Where should I go specifically? which hotel/motel/guest house/beach etc?

Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!

Looks nice. You should be able to find reasonable accommodations for two weeks, flights are probably $600 USD r/t.

Begin by looking for Hostels in that location. These sites have cheaper hotels, guest houses, pensions and the like.

If ladislav can post, he has a great deal of knowledge about the RP.

The flights won't be $600. That's too much. You can get them cheap at http://www.cebupacificair.com.

I'm not sure if there will be hotels available right now though. Tough call.
