Does anyone have any experience with Germany?
I am now split between two cities in Germany.
Hamburg, Germany vs. Leipzig, Germany.
Both are suitable for me but I am leaning more towards Leipzig.
It's lower cost, has much more space, leaves me with some money leftover in the best case for a bottle of wine, I can do online work for $2.5 US/hour or 3 Euros per hour which is fine, or really low paying microtasks for money.
I probably won't be going out much anywhere. I don't really have the personality or charisma to go to bars, I dislike winter, and why I should I actually go anywhere? When it's summer I might decide to approach girls at a park to use my PUA props and try to get a number, but maybe not. I don't have the money to buy a girl dinner except maybe once a month.
Leipzig is more towards southern Germany so I assume that it should have a warmer climate?
Does Germany or Italy have more farmland? There's a lot of things in Germany much more affordable then most of the cities in Italy affording to Numbeo.
I am also choosing Germany because they likely will solve things in a day if there's an issue with electricity, water, or internet. Finding someone that speaks English will also be much better as well as getting a job.
Has anyone ever been to Germany longer than 3 weeks or a month? What was your experience?

Some years ago I attended the Oktoberfest in Munich. In one of the beer tents I met a guy who offered me a job in construction. He was serious. He told me they drink all day on the job. "The beer goes down, the houses go up" he told me.Tsar wrote: βSeptember 21st, 2021, 4:29 pmI am now split between two cities in Germany.

I would do that if I was offered and it didn't involve heights. I'm not that strong anymore compared to Bulgaria but I know in Europe I will become stronger again.Voyager1 wrote: βSeptember 21st, 2021, 5:13 pmSome years ago I attended the Oktoberfest in Munich. What sort of foods are served at Oktoberfest? Did you find it easy to talk to people? Did they know to speak to you in English?
How easy would it be to get a day laborer job?

The food is great there.
Many speak English.
You will just have to ask around to get a job. Maybe go to construction sites.

Is there anything that you think people moving to Germany should know?

One thing that is important is you need health insurence that costs almost 200 euro a month. If you have normal job the employer will pay your part. Another thing to know is you have to get registered for your address.

What if I am unemployed? I assume there's no insurance for unemployed residents that would be more affordable. What are the private insurance companies in Germany if I need to get health insurance and are preexisting conditions covered?
2,400 Euros a year (200 Euros a month) in insurance premiums would be completely out of my budget. That's almost $3,000 US a year.
There's no way that an EU citizen in Germany could get any more affordable options for coverage?

After 6 months of work you get 6 monts unemployment benefits. It also pays for the health insurance.Tsar wrote: βSeptember 22nd, 2021, 6:24 amWhat if I am unemployed? If you are just unemployed you need the insurance. Private insurance is even more expensive in Germany. Preexisting conditions are making it more expensive. You will not be able to do it under 200 euros as far as I know. Better make an extensive search. It is a complicated topic.

What do I do for food if I can't find work easy as an English speaker? If I was paying 200 Euros a month then I would be paying 100% of my money on rent with utilities and health insurance. That's in one of the most affordable cities. I would have no money for health insurance if I went anywhere else. No money would be remaining if there's extra healthcare costs I need to pay, absolutely zero left for food, zero left for taxis if I need one.Gali wrote: βSeptember 22nd, 2021, 6:32 amAfter 6 months of work you get 6 monts unemployment benefits. I can't really afford anywhere without either having zero healthcare or starving from having no money for food.

You don't have to get into the specifics but what type of work is it online? Who is paying you? Are you currently doing this work?

I was doing reading about how people make money online. I would be doing simple tasks for companies. Some pay $0.01-$0.10 a task. I think they help programs and other things learn. One has much better paying tasks but to get to do then, there's tests and tasks time to get approved if someone does get approved. I also want to get paid in Euros.
No, I can't concentrate on anything in the Western Hemisphere and I need an EU residence to get paid in Euros.

Do you think Feather Insurance will be acceptable in Germany? It has a cost of about 77 Euros a month. It says that it should be accepted. It's expat health insurance. The basic option, not the premium option. I can't really afford the premium option because it's about 150 Euros a month.

I think no. It will not be under the 166 Euros.Tsar wrote: βSeptember 22nd, 2021, 7:47 amDo you think Feather Insurance will be acceptable in Germany? It has a cost of about 77 Euros a month. Tsar go back to US. There are so many jobs like driving trucks where you can make 3 times more money than in Germany. Save money and travel to girl places.

I can't drive, especially not a truck. I would probably hit ten or more cars or I would damage the truck by hitting an object. I defaulted on my debt and life in America requires a credit score. I have no money. The United States would be at least three times as expensive as Germany for people at the bottom.Gali wrote: βSeptember 22nd, 2021, 8:07 amI think no. There's nothing in the United States and the United States makes traveling miserable. The TSA has requirements like remove shoes, takeout a laptop, and other requirements.
I don't want to live in the United States because my quality of life was always terrible and I never could do anything because everything is far apart. The healthcare system in the United States was terrible.
How can you tell someone to go back to a country where they never had a job because they weren't ever hired, constantly mistreated, homeless, have zero savings, impossible rents, hidden fees, and very high inflation that gets excluded from the costs? Isn't that illogical? It's telling someone to live on the streets. The United States is a very terrible country for the poor and the homeless. I have no one IRL to actually help me.
My chances of even getting a girl with my terrible socializing ability which for girls is no experience at all, I will probably never get a girl in my life. Also, the United States is paranoid about everything. I don't want to deal with the screenings. Traveling to "girl places" is expensive from the United States and people don't get much paid holiday time and most jobs don't even give many benefits anymore.
