Your code is elegant but too bad whoreporations won't use it. They love to use Javascript, html, css, some latest javascript framwork such as React, Angular in web development. All mainstream crap and React and Angular is the worst piece of shit I have ever seen. Even basic Javascript is better than those two.

Some use PHP, but PHP sucks too because it is erratic and code doesn't execute very well.
Yes, thanks. I would rather be a galley slave than take a job as a programmer today. A job cleaning the worst sewer would be preferable to a programming job because modern programming tools are far more disgusting than the worst sewer. And a programming job probably means having to work with other programmers who will be the absolutely scum of the earth, the most depraved evil people that this world has ever seen.
What if you worked with Mennonite Arkian programmers?

If I had to do choose between that and writing code, I'd definitely go for marketing.
Marketing is required for business, programming isn't. But there are advantages to knowing both. Right now I am programming marketing analytics so I can analyze the whole sales funnel in detail, from the cold emails to actions in the website to signing up. And all in one place, so I use programming to get the data from different sources and feed it to my analytics tool. In a few weeks I will see if this pays off.
why do you have such a low opinion of other programmers? incidentally I share your opinion. IME programmers these days tend to be arrogant, passive aggressive, backstabbing etc.

im thinking of getting back into programming and hopefully trying to find a job. I know this is a broad question but...do you know of any lucrative areas to look into? seems like the entire field is saturated these days...

I see their code. Basically every time I look for some software tool that I need, all I find is crap. My thoughts on programming are here: http://www.reactionary.software/

The most lucrative approach is to be an ass-kissing sociopath. If that doesn't suit you, then maybe try to start your own business.

@kukushka

I did dabbled for a couple of months in learning to program.

The most lucrative and cushy field to my knowledge is Big Data(you have to learn Python), Big banks(Some Legacy
COBOL FOTRAN code from the 70's and 80's), Big Corporations(Their propriety technology from the 70's and 80's), Medical/Bio/Pharma Field(I don't know what kind of code base they using), and possibly A.I(Don't know what kind of code base they use). Their code base doesn't consistently evolve every goddamned week, and their pay is very quite good, golden handcuff level. However you need to build your connection with somebody who works in the industry and attend coding boot camp that teaches big data and others.

Web development is saturated, too many competition, pay is mediocre, and you have to constantly keep up learning frameworks.

Game development doesn't pay as good as above mentioned. Not worth it, and too many crunch times.

You could get into government IT. However, getting into those are hard with 12 months waiting periods. You need somebody who already works in the government to vouch for you.

You can also try to join the military and apply for IT roles there as IT specialist... Some people I knew did that when they were 18 years old. Now they are doing very well and making a killing.

I had applied for over 100 companies back during beginning of COVID 19 for web development position. All of them at least required one to three years of experience for the all the popular tech stack, but I applied anyway. I didn't have money for coding boot camp and had to pay my bills. Self taught for four months on Html, Css, Javascript, some PHP and React. Why didn't I trained longer? Because back then I really hated my job, my co-workers, my boss and wanted to switch ASAP and changed my life. At that time the beginning pay for web devs were around 65k to 70k in New York City.

Only three interviews, one ghosted me, one asked me to write algorithms on the white board which I failed, one offered me a "stock options" instead of a salary, it was a some kind of bio medical startup..don't remember but probably went under within 12 months, lack of funding I guess.

I managed to get a job through my mother's connections in some Korean web company, HeyKorean but the pay was awful. Only 50k a yr in New York City and the boss was a dickhead and dumb as a bag of rocks. I quit after 1 months and went back to better logistics company which I am currently at today.

My role is General Manager. I work in the office and sometimes in the warehouse. The pay is decent and the company gives me some leeway how to do my job. I can't get into specifics here in this site. That is what I do. Logistics is like a forgotten son that no one knew they had.. but it plays a vital role in the economy. Without it, you can't not get your shiny new plastic crap available in store shelves, Amazon wouldn't work, and militaries can't win wars without it, that's how the Nazis lost the war because they didn't invested into logistics while the Americans had superior logistics.

Well I still think Programmers are a cool bunch and I wish I was one. However they can be really soulless robotic personality and some of them can be arrogant assholes. But hey, people generally in logistics are worst. You get bunch of bottom of the barrel, motley crew of second to third rate
functionally retarded people working in the office, driving the trucks, and working in the warehouse. That's who you have to deal with in Logistics.

Since you are in logistics, maybe you can explain to me how Temu manages to do relatively fast shipping from China at such a low cost. I am curious about this.

Possibly they have warehouses in the U.S as fulfillments centers just like Amazon is having. They also buy cheap manufactured Chinese goods in huge bulk at a discount. They also probably use third party logistics companies for deliveries meaning they don't have to hire inhouse truck drivers or own any vehicles which can be expensive with salaries and insurances.

nice man, your job sounds very lax and pragmatic. seems like there would be very limited office politics (which are exhausting to deal with)

yeah I get what youre saying. I guess you could say something negative about every demographic. lower class people can sometimes be worse to deal with than snooty middle class people, in their own unique way.
