YouTube and Vimeo videos don't play

On this new forum, YouTube videos only play back sound and not video. Vimeo videos don't play at all, only the link shows with the vimeo videos and nothing else.

I noticed the Flash is turned off on this forum maybe that's why the videos aren't playing.

Yeah maybe. I'll look into it. I do see an option to set bbcodes for flash. I don't know if that's related to embedding YouTube videos or not though. I will test it out and see. The permissions on this forum are very complicated and involve any panels.

I can hear and see the YouTube videos just fine though. The video and audio seem to work for me.

The main issue is that all the YouTube videos embedded before the conversion are now not embedded. To embed them again, one has to edit their post and resubmit it.

To embed Vimeo videos, you simply insert the number of the video, and the number only, between these tags:

Update:

I fixed the problem with embedding Vimeo videos by removing the old Vimeo BBCode that no longer works. Instead, you can now use the media tags to embed Vimeo videos, like this:

Use the media button in the post form to embed the media tags. It's next to the "mention" and "youtube" buttons and looks like a TV screen icon. When you wrap those tags around a vimeo URL, it will embed like this:



You can also use the media tags to embed videos from other sites. Here's a large list of them.
