403 Site Errors?

Has anyone else seen HA posting problems lately? I see a lot of 403 errors (example below).

Actually they're not just when I post, sometimes I can't read the forum either.

Not even sure what a 403 is, not seen it before. Maybe GoDaddy have screwed up again.

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /forum/posting.php on this server.

Additionally, a 403 Forbidden error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

I heard about that from a few people. Is it affecting all of you? If so, in what way? And since when?

It's intermittent and has been happening for the last day.

Can't use HA at all from Thailand this afternoon - I just see 403 errors. Is this related to the work to keep the Indian spammers off the site?

I'm now using a Singapore proxy and it's OK.

It might be. But I didn't block Thailand. What's your IP there?

It just happened again. Then I waited 5 minutes and the problem went away.

So I don't think it's an IP block issue, because I thought that would be permanent.

Have you got access to your server's logs (not Google Analytics). In the logs you should be able to find out how many 403's you're getting. It would be terrible if you're losing 20% of your site's visitors!

I'll ask Godaddy about it.

I wonder if hackers are hijacking this site? Maybe PeterAndrewNolan's enemies have commissioned hackers to disrupt us? I did get threats from them on Facebook.

Keep in mind that you are in SE Asia, and the internet there is not as stable or reliable. That may be why too.

Next time you get a page load error, try pushing Control-R to refresh the page until it shows. Have you tried that?

Is anyone else here having page load errors?
