Do you drink Diet Coke?
Do you drink Diet Coke?
I admit I like the taste of Diet Coke. I don't care much for Coke Zero or Original Coke.
Diet Pepsi is ok too.
But recently I bought a generic supermarket brand diet cola, and the taste is alright. I wouldn't say worse than any Coke plus lower cost.
I really don't think there's anything to these name brands.

Re: Do you drink Diet Coke?
I don't drink Diet Coke anywhere in the world.
Diet Coke has a two major problems:
1. It will typically have aspartame and aspartame is toxic. It's even used in Diet Coke in the EU.

2. Diet anything will trick the hunger receptors so Diet Coke is mainly flavored water. Sugar in Original Coke will at least provide glucose which helps with memory and energy levels.

Re: Do you drink Diet Coke?
I do not drink Diet Coke (or any other such beverage) for two reasons. First, I have tried such drinks before and it either tastes nasty or bitter to me. Secondly, diet sodas contain aspartame which is an artificial sweetener that has been associated with some health risks. However, I don't drink much of the original Coke Cola. Although I do like the flavors Cherry, Cherry/Vanilla, and the limited addition "Starlite"/"Space Flavored" Coke.

There is some evidence that Aspartame causes cancer in lab rats and humans (if consumed excessively.)
What about alternative sweeteners such as Stevia, Sucralose?
@Tsar would you drink this product?

or any other of their soda flavors?

I would drink beverages with natural Stevia as a sweetener.Voyager1 wrote: ↑March 30th, 2022, 8:30 amThere is some evidence that Aspartame causes cancer in lab rats and humans (if consumed excessively.)

No to Sucralose because it also has negative side-effects like other artificial sweeteners.
I wouldn't drink that product because it has Sucralose.
I would always drink tea as my choice of flavored beverage. I would add honey as a sweetener. Depending on the flavor of tea, I would add a little milk. Some studies have shown that sucralose can change your gut microbiome by lowering the number of good bacteria by half. Research done on animals shows that sucralose can also increase inflammation in the body. Over time, inflammation can lead to problems like obesity and diabetes.

I think my excellent physical health has somewhat to do with avoiding high fructose corn syrup, GMOs (both fresh vegetables like regular corn and snacks), diet soda, artificial sweeteners, and soda throughout my younger years.
I started drinking tea as a teenager because I wanted a healthy and flavorful beverage, and carbonated beverages aren't really something I like much.
