Post by Dogboy86 »

I have been a type one diabetic for twenty three years. Are there any type one's out about and abroad? How do you get supplies for your conditions in the third world?

I like soda like rootbeer... if I drink something with sugar it seems to work more quickly. Remember that when someone's sugar is low it isn't the time for debating because the they arnt thinking on a rational level. I wouldn't worry about what's healthy for them at the point they are low just get their sugar level up and go from there.

Thank you Repatriate, I didn't know this. I need to see what my insurance will cover when I'm retired and outside the country. Thanks again for the help...

@DogBoy86,

Know one thing, dude: "foreign" meds for STD/VD treatment and Type I/II Diabetes is soooooooooo cheap and so much more effective than America b.s.-ass meds for eliminating that stuff.

I'm on Lantus which is out of Germany and Humalog which is Lilly AKA big pharma... they are around 200$ a bottle here in the states without insurance and I use seven bottles a month worth of injections... with insurance here I pay 80$ a month for everything but that's one of the perks of my job.

I got hot by a nasty virus when I was fifteen. It completely took out my pancreases ability to generate the hormone insulin. For me there is no way around injection insulin at this time...

I'm glad that it didn't take your life. That sounds like something nasty you had eaten...something raw/uncooked.

daleking wrote:Today all of the causes of diabetes are not fully understood, but still i have heard that eating raw foods helps to reduce some of the currently known risk factors. Raw vegetables dipped in hummus make a great snack for diabetics. Vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, celery and bell pepper are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals. They can be sliced ahead of time and eaten on the go if necessary.Almonds are one of the best uncooked foods for diabetics to eat.

Thank you. I'll make a note of this. :O)
