My brother in law used to drink 2 liters of coke a day until he got cancer.

Assuming he's in America then it is very possible that he didn't get the cancer from coca cola, but the high fructose corn syrup that is in the soda.

I avoid high fructose corn syrup. I almost never drink any soda (or beverage) with high fructose corn syrup. Artificial sweeteners are also very bad (especially aspartame). I will only drink soda if it has cane sugar. High fructose corn syrup also causes a lot of other health problems.
