Drinking too much coffee can make you hear voices...
IF you keep hearing things that aren’t there, you’re probably drinking too much coffee.
Just five cups a day could be enough to make your ears play tricks on you, according to researchers.
Caffeine: Those who drank a large number of coffees were more likely to hear White Christmas in white noise
In an experiment, volunteers who had consumed ‘high levels’ of caffeine thought they were listening to Bing Crosby singing White Christmas even though the song was not being played.
The researchers described caffeine as ‘the most commonly used psychoactive drug’.
They said the study showed that the health risks of too much coffee need to be addressed.
In the tests, 92 volunteers were asked to listen to a constant fuzzy sound known as white noise.
Professor Simon Crowe, of La Trobe University in Melbourne, said: ‘We also told them that within the white noise there may be parts of the song White Christmas and if you hear it, press a button.
‘We didn’t include White Christmas in the white noise but found that more people who were very stressed and had high levels of caffeine thought they heard the song.
‘The combination of caffeine and stress affect the likelihood of an individual experiencing a psychosis-like symptom.’
The team from the university’s School of Psychological Sciences found that five cups of coffee a day was enough to trigger this.
Professor Crowe added: ‘Caution needs to be exercised with the use of this overtly “safe drug.’

When I was in Paris last month, I noticed that their coffee cups were tiny compared to ours. The French would go to their local cafe in the morning and order a very small cup of coffee and a small croissant. If anyone here is into baking, I'm sure you know how much butter goes into those things.
When I came back to the states, I did a mental comparison and noticed that the crossiants from Taiwanese bakeries were about 1.5x the size, and at American style bakeries they were even larger, sitting next to large-sized bear claws.
In Holland I meet a girl who commented that when she visited the US, she couldn't believe how large the drink sizes were. So now when I see someone carry a starbucks cup, I start thinking "how many French cups fit in one of those things?"

coffee is super unhealthy. i think it's another product the elites popularized so we die earlier in life. bacon is another. just like sugar you should try to cut it out of your diet. tastes dam good though so at least limit your portion like momopi said or think about decaf. but it has to be done the right way, like the swiss method at nice cafes. the decaf you buy at the store had it's caffeine content removed using chemicals which are not fit for human consumption, that's why it has that awful smell (and taste).
It's always been political, and 90+% of science has always been junk science.
Maybe they're using studies that prove things everyone already knew to gain public confidence in "science". So they can use "science" to "prove" that man evolved from amoebas, that cell-phones are safe, or that women are paid less than men. It's science after all, it has to be true. SCIENCE! Just listen to the word. Convinced yet?MrPeabody wrote:It would be more interesting to explore the psychology of why such pointless studies are supported by the Western matrix and passed off as real knowledge.

Coffee, just like over 90% of the junk we consume these days, is an addictive drug. Fortunately, I never got addicted to that one. In my whole life so far, I've had less than 5 cups of coffee. But I used to be a major cokaholic (Diet Coke) before I figured out it was destroying my bones and causing other problems as well. I had to drop it 100% cold turkey.
